Well here you guys have it. after first trying to grow in a closet where i couldnt keep it cool. then trying to grow in alittle cabinet that i still couldnt keep cool or keep light right. now i took it the next step :-).

5x4x8
i framed it 2foot on center figured didnt need the 16oc.
I am unsure what i am going to do with the inside walls. i was thinking just plastic the 2 new walls. idk about the 2 red walls yet.
I also removed the factory trim on the inside of the door and added some wider material to block the light seeping in around the door.
I plan to paint the outside the same as the other walls and put trim around the door.
I also need to figure some kinda fan system up. limited on space to stand and work so its hard to throw a basic oscillating fan in there

Looking for some great ideas to make this better

Take a look at my pictures in this thread :) if smell is going to be an issue for you, i would strongly recommend carbon filters. Get some mylar on those walls. as much light to your plants the better, and allowing it to soak up in to the walls is a waste. even with plastic sheeting, its not very reflective. I used diamond shaped mylar. as for the rest it really does depend on how picky you want to be :) .. i like total control over my system with temps automatically regulated etc

I would sheetrock the walls and paint everything(inc floor) flat white
as for venting,do you have a fan to draw air out? & could you vent into another area to lighten the load on your air conditioner?
last suggestion would be to go for a HPS light.
you have plenty of height so attach the oscillating fan to the ceiling &aim it down.

i threw a fan in there pointing up from the floor for now. temps shouldnt be much of a problem. the AC unit auto shuts off at 75 and turns back on at 80 so that keeps the temp with in reason under the lights.

As for a filter i was thinking of maken a carbon filter i have some of those scotch brite cloths they use and sow it into a sack fill with active carbon and throw that on the end of my exhuast. i was usen a 6inch exhaust fan but it was just to loud so i had to down grade to the 4inch.

oh and yes if u look in the picture u can see the exhaust fan up at the top with the long vent comming off it to stop light from comming in

on the outside of the grow room i used those floor vents on the walls for where the intake and exhaust are. the intake is just taped over alittle

i wanted to vent into the attic but last closet i tried to vent into the attic didnt go over to well. opening that hole just allowed way to much heat to come down from the attic. i was usen a 6inch duct fan and it just couldnt keep the heat out

consider a dryer vent w/ levoured doors like this one

putr it in the attic & mount vertically, the flaps will close when the fan is off to stop the heat & when the fan kicks on,it will blow them open
i had thought about that but how powerful of a fan am i going to need to be able to blow those open. i dont want to use the 6inch duct fan its to loud and the neighbors can hear
