New fad : Un Trimmed Weed

I think it needs to happen. Harvesting is one of the most grueling processes out there. Why do we even do it? Really? It doesn't cause mold or make the stuff smell like hay. Thats bogus, and the stuff I am trimming most of the time is littered with trichomes. If only not all auto trimmers sucked

if it's for yourself or you're giving it away go for it. when i harvest the lower small buds they don't get trimmed, after they dry i put them in a big tupperware bowl and shake it hard to knock all the leaves off, after that i pick all the buds out and i share these with my friends and the leaves go to the butter bag. the prime buds get manicured.

I think i made this post mostly out of frustration and not so much logic. When actually a lot of people say just cut the tips not all the down to the calyx because when you do that, you don't leave a lot of protection for trichomes falling off. Where as if you have a little leaf cupping the trichome covered calyx you're in the money. When you break it apart you simply dis guard it. Do you people really not break up your bud first? What the hell is the big deal with smoking a little leaf anyways? You guys gonna choke and suffocate? "That joint has LEAF in it!! Are you trying to kill me!!!"

So how much trimming we talkin here? An hour? Two? I know it's grueling but I like the finished product better myself and ppl who pay for it demand it.

If trimming took and hour or two I would never speak of it. Also even an 8 hour entire harvest sounds like a breeze through I'm talking an entire week of 12 hour trim shifts

Afaik a bud trimmer would work for you if you do it wet, apparently its when you do it dry that you run into problems...Im getting a small one in a few weeks for trimming all the non-cola buds, Ill post up a review when the time comes.

Exactly, tastes like shit, that's why i trim. If it's just for you the just do what works for you, whether this is trimmed or untrimmed, but if someone tried to sell me untrimmed bud they'd be getting a slap or two.
I get an ounce of leaf shake for a little over $100 and it smokes great, though being more of a body stone. It tastes perfectly good however. As for harshness, I can't really say because I'll toke anything after having roached my cigarettes.

But, I think it's kind of cheeky to sell bud with leaves in it, there IS a discrepancy in taste and potency making up the same weights. I am still saying, depending on the strain, you can have a good old time smoking leaves.

But sell them separately, please!

I think it up to the smoke-e to dis guard there unwanted plant matter. Just as you would stems, I think it's another occupational hazard. When you have bud trimmed to the calyx all those precious trichomes are getting screwed. And its not even saying that the leaves are as useless as stems they're more littered with trichomes then the bud is, you would get more THC intake I bet weight for weight with the trimmed leaf tips and all that stuff then you would smoking bud. I really can not believe these many people complain about harshness of leaves.

not everyone enjoys their neighbors hearing them hack up a lung all night long. also you can take bigger hits of stuff that isn't as harsh and hold it in longer. you don't have to trim your buds. just like people have been saying, do it how you like it. if it's just for you then don't cut anything off when you dry it and smoke the whole plant if you feel the need to. If you are going to be growing to sell to other people or to dispensaries, your gonna want to trim off those leaf, keep em for yourself and make hash out of them.

Who said anything about wasting them? We trim the bud so it's tastes as good as it can, and then we take the trim and make hash which tastes even better :) As a personal grower though you can do exactly as fits you're enjoyment, i can certainly dig the idea of not trimming the plants :D If selling, then buyers do not think on those lines and will not, they have come to the dealer to buy bud, not leaves, that's the clue.
