New digital timer? not what I expected? Help?

Just received my hydrofarm digital timer. But im having trouble. I bought this so that I could run my exhaust and circulating fan on for 10 min off for 15 min instead of using my regular timer that only lets me do on/off every 30 min. But the new digital says on the instructions that it will only run 8 cycles...Im so confused.

Thanks I appreciate it. Unfortunetly theres no way Im dropping 75 bucks on a timer. Im wondering what I can do. I have a 8x6 grow room, 400 watt hps, 4 inch exhaust fan, dehumidifier. I don't want to keep my exhaust running constantly because It doesn't need to be and I want to conserve electricity. Maybe the best thing I can do is buy a cheap 15 min timer and run it 15 min on, 30-45 min off. I already have a 30 min on/off timer but I don't like running the fan that much. that means everday the fan is running 12 hours. edit: The fan would then run a total of 8 hours per day and night so should be a lot better as far as electrical cost compared to running it 24 hours a day like a lot of guys do.

then again I don't even know if there is a such thing as a timer that I can have running for 15 on and 45 off that could cover a 24 hour period constantly.

But im thinking I may not even need it. Since I have an overly large room for only my 400 and 4 plants(8x6ft) I may be able to run my exhaust fan 30 min on and 1 hr off if my co2 doesn't deplete too much within that 1 hour the fan is off. Anyone know how to figure that out?

With that big a space, you shouldn't need to worry about the CO2 depleting in an hour. Also menards, lowes, etc have a 24 hour repeating timer that has 15 minute increments for six bucks. I have 2and they are real reliable. Peace & be kind

My first timer was a $7.00 Grasslin analog , worked in 15 min. intervals. 2nd timer that I use now is a Brinks digital bought at Walmart for $13.00. With one HPS and accessories, a cheap timer will suffice. Get 2 or 3 cheap analog timers to run different things. I too think $75 is a waste, especially for a single light HPS grow with accessories.

I wouldn't have the exhaust running for no less then 24 hours due to smell. I your exhaust is turned off the smell isn't being filtered which means that your whole home will smell like weed... My plants smell during veg and I use bagseeds so I imagine anything from a seed bank does too

I have the smell under control. That's not an issue. Hell, I grew og kush last time and im pretty sure I heard that og smells a lot. Never had a prob outside the room tho plus im legal so its all good.

If you're not dropping money or DIYing a recycle timer, you're not going to be able to do what you want (10/on - 15/off). Period.

Best solution would be a cheap analog 15min increment timer.

every regular analog timer may be easily modified by just removing one gear so the steps are 1minute instead of 15min, just find it on youtube (DIY repeat timer), if your timer looks different than the one on a video - don't worry, it most probably have the same gear set inside
