how u doing people, right im after a new car to replace my 2004 mitsu evo 8 which is currently tuned to 400hp.

i love the evo always have however i feel its time for a change now

budget is around $60-80k

been looking at the new bmw m3 and nissan gtr, both great but the gtr with a waiting list and dealers taking extra over list price.

Also theres the mercedes c63 amg, which is a beast, have a test drive booked for this in 2 weeks time.

so really its out of those three cars, so 2 germans and 1 jap machine.

i really cant decide between them i can test drive an m3 but not a gtr no one has one yet to try.

i dont want to make the mistake of ordering a gtr without driving one and then i feel its not right for me.

oh also the gtr and c63 both come with flappy paddle gearoxes which is a big plus for me having always driven manual stick shift cars it will be the best cross between manual and auto as i stay in a place with heavy traffic.

lol if i did go for an m3 it would be in white, infact either of the cars would be in white, one thing tho is bmw is launching its mdct (i think) which is bascally their clutchless falppy paddle box, not sure to go with manual or that, again its hard to get a test drive of the latter where i am only the manual.

i know the m3 isnt as fast as the gtr, but i think it looks a lot nicer

I love BMWs so that's why I said M3

And personally I think they have a blueish color that looks really good on the M3s...also a smokey charcoal color that makes me melt :)

I'm right there with you.... love the blueish color, and the M3. didn't they put the M5 engine in it recently?

Hands down the GT-R. I mean the only other car that can hang with it is a 911 turbo, and its twice as much money.

i actually was reading a issue of car and driver where they did a 3 way test with the corvette Z06 the new GT-R and the 911 turbo, the gtr whooped ass in all aspects. The z06 was way facter once it got traction but the GT-R with the 4 wheel drive launches so much better its like day and night. But to adress the question, lets see what you think after the AMG, theyr monsters, hopefully you wouldnt be entering an autocross event or somethin haha

yeh the gtr is some car and especially since its jap and i already own and evo i reckon it would settle in nicely into my life, but the m3 just looks so nice, same price for all 3 of the cars where i live.

Go with the shadrach stang. I think the highest model is like $250k, so maybe it's a little out of your price range. Shadrach Mustang: Home

Or the Shelby GT500.

Or try out a subaru impreza WRX STi.

As a BMW man myself... I just finished my DINAN 5 by the way. I must say anything BMW is a great choice, the M3 is nice... but if you have the money you say you have, go ahead and put that as a down payment on the M5, basically I like the 4 doors and the knowledge that I could smack around pretty much anything on the road, but more so the 4 doors part as I am planning for family hopefully in the next 2-3 years. I will be acquiring mine sometime this fall and I am totally excited. I'm doing the whole "BMW Experience" thing where I will fly to Germany, inspect my vehicle there, take it around Europe for a few days then bring it back and they'll ship it to my dealership. They certainly know how to please. Besides, it's the Ultimate Driving Machine... you can't go wrong with that!
