New Cab Grow

Well Here we go. Cab is 4' x 3' x 8' tall. I built it out of plywood and studs. I painted the walls high gloss white. I am running a hydro farm 400w metal halide for veg and an eye hortilux 400w hps conversion bulb for flowering. the light is hung from two studs in the top. the ballast has its own box on top of the main box. I am also running a 4" high velocity inline intake fan 170 cfm from the bottom of the box up to the light for cooling and fresh air. I am also running one small clip fan for circulation and plants. and a large oscillating fan for cooling and circulation. For exhaust I have a shitty cheap home depot bathroom fan 100 cfm. oredered another inline fan from htg should be here next week. I have 3 plants from seed in there now that are about 5 1/2- 6 weeks. all g13 x mr nice. I am getting 5 more clones this weekend. ( 3 sensi star, 2 purple kush x jacks cleaner my fav) I am using soil and its ocean forest with some other home-mixed nutes. Bottle nutes Im using earth juice products, Grow, Bloom and catalyst. There is lso a therm/hydrometer in there and So far Ive been keeping it around 85 which is a bit warm for me but hopefully with the new exhaist I can bring it down. This is not my first grow but my first one in a small box like this so wish me luck. Any questions or comments feel free.

Looks great. I dont know what your looking for as far as plant growth, but if you want bushier plants you can lower the lights a bit. But they look great the way they are, and if those walls are flat white, then its perfect for retaining light. Mylar is great but will not need if u painted those walls flat white specifically to keep in the light. Which it looks like you have from those paint marks ^__^

Thanks. Yeah I though mylar but I had some bright white paint which reflects almost as well. Im now on 20-4 but will be at 18-6 in the next few weeks. Just want to get those clones in and happy before I switch. And I had the light lower but it was a bit much for the plants with such weak roots. as soon as I get the other clones I will move it much closer.

I work in a cabinet shop and we just got some padding for some material that was extremely reflective so I think I might throw that up as well..... Just being a cheap ass.

So just plucked my sensi star clones out of the ez cloner and got them in some cups. I had them under a high output flouro setup so I think they will be fine under the metal halide. Cant wait. And I also set up another power strip and timer for my fans. Its getting colder out at night now so I think Ill shut them off shortly after the light. The temps in the cab itself are coming down nicely Since the new fans. It was 73 in there this evening with the door open.

Things look good. Clones look like their fairing off well. Always wanted to do a Sea Of Green just never did so good luck with that. One quick question though, I noticed ur plants are in a rubber made type container.....any reason why? To be honest, even though it would not be a huge difference, they would get better ventilation out of the box, and probably better light reflection as well. Just a thought.

Not any good reason besides thats what I had them in when they were seedlings. Ill probably end up pulling it out when I transplant the clones.

Can anyone tell me if there is an optimal temp to store water and nutes at? Ive been leaving mine in the box and it seems like there smelling more shitty by the day. Good? Bad?

Bad news. Clones were loaded with white flies. Pulled them today and wiped down the bigger ones. Picking up new clones tomorrow.

Alright finally grabbed some pics of the ladies. The 4 in the box are the sensai clones that are just roasting under some cfls for now. The two bigger clones in the front are the af-goo and of course the ones in the back are the mr nice from seeds. They are all doing well and I just picked up some azatrol which Im told is the best organic incecticide money can buy. But thats it for now. Stay tuned

question though. The three In the back that are from seed seem to be staying a lighter green and not as perky as they were. I havent changed anything as far as watering. I even cut back on the nutes and that doesnt seem to be it. Any ideas or input would be great.
