  • Hello all, been taking a break and doing the whole work thing
ditched old system and room. Been doing research and setting up another legal grow. Been hitting up ebay and some local shops for equip and will be running the following:

    Equip-

    -5x5 gorilla grow tent
    -sentinel dec-4 digital enviromental controller
-solis tek 1k matrix ballast w/ remote
    -solis tek 1k hps bulb
-hydrofarm raptor 8 dual bulb hood (may get the solis tek digital splitter and run dual spectrum, but for the time being only gonna run the hps)
-2 maxfan 8" one for the hood and one for the carbon filter
    -phresh filter 8x24" 750cfm
    -phresh 8" duct silencer
    -8" dust shroom
    -botanicare 4x4 LowTide drip tray
-40 gal botanicare low pro rez
-66 gal GH covert tank rez
    -hydro logic stealth ro 100
    -bluelab combo meter
-4 6" clip fans for circulation
    -9500 btu portable ac
    -tons more

    Nutes-

    -Advanced nutrients connisseur ph perfect
    -advanced nutrients hobbyist bundle
    -advanced nutrients Bud candy
    -house and garden drip clean

***I know for the most part people talk shit of an, but i have ran a couple of other nute company's and want to switch it up a little, cant hurt to try.***

    System

So with that said waiting for everything to arrive and will be setting up sometime this new year and will be setting up a journal. Was thinking of running a drip system or just hand water drain to waste. My idea was to set the 4x4 tray on the 40 gal botanicare rez. plumb it for drain and have the runoff drain into the rez under the tray. going to have a pump setup in the rez and pump runoff out when needed. If i go drip setup, will be using the 66 gal rez on outside of tent and pump water to pvc manifold with 1/4 drip tubing and let it drain to waste into rez under tray. Either gonna run 3 gal air pots with gold label cocos/perlite mix or rock wool not sure, any input???

    Setup

going to be setting tent up in spare bedroom with the portable ac setup, keeping the room at 70 degrees. Went over kill with the fans but wanted something big enough in case i had a heat emergency and for expansion in the future. will be using a 5 amp variac controller per maxfan. Running one 8"max fan to idividually cool the raptor, into a phresh duct silencer and out of room. another 8" maxfan pulling through phresh filter and out tent and out of room. which should be pulling 70 degree air into tent. With hopes this will keep me in that sweet spot.

Not sure as to how many plants but was thinking of running 4 possibly 5. Have been looking at hso blue dream or possibly wos nl x bigbud. with training and a 2 screens was hopeing for some nice 3.5, 4 ft bushes. Not to concerned about height as the tent is extendable.

Have more to say but am very tired from work, any input welcome and cant wait to get it up and running. Feel free to educate me as i am always learning new things and have much more to learn. Thanks

With the system I'm gonna run, should I do 3 gallon air pots with coco/perlite mix or run 6 or 8 inch rockwool blocks, both will be drain to waste. Any input thanks.

Just got my sentinel in today, got the new dec-4 as I won't be running co2 in this tent setup. More to come thinking it will all show up on Monday.

that thing look pretty cool. Could you explain exactly everything you can control with that? I would imagine all the timers for the lights are built in but what else?

the solis tek matrix ballast that im getting has a built in timer. Ive owned the sentinel chhc-4 for my last setup. Parted ways with the last setup and am basically starting from scratch. The sentinel DEC-4 (digital enviromental controller) basically is the new version on the env-2. It does the basics, digitally monitors day/night temp and day/night humidity and controls co2 on a timed control(makes life easier ;). So i would plug my exhaust fan or ac into the cooling input. heater in the heat input, and a humidifier or dehu in the humidity input. there is also a co2 control function but its more of a timed thing vs. digital ppm control which the big brother sentinel chhc-4 has. all in all there identical other than diff in co2 control. As i am not running co2 theres no need to spend 2 times more to run co2.

All i can say is wow, haven't even set it up yet, but they really focused on presentation and quality compared to other grow tents ive ordered. It comes in a custom bag, well organized and has this nice Mylar finish in the bag. overall very impressed. Cant wait to set it up, will in a bit.

Things are starting to come together, should be receiving ST matrix ballast/Remote, ST hps bulb, and CanFan maxFan 8 should be here tomorrow.

Still deciding what strain to run. Was looking at the bay dream from kens estates, hso blue dream, and nl x bigbud. not really sure any input would be great.

More to come

Well, I can tell you that Somango is a winner. The tastiest smoke
that I have grown so far. Strong too, but the taste was it's best feature.

I looked back into my photos and found those below.

The Tent, with the Somangos along the left side. (note: they are not
given top spots in the tent....they were too much lankier than the AKs):

One of the Somangos, near harvest:

and a nice shot of the Somango Mother, flowering but with time still to grow:

Good luck,

I order from attitude also but there has been quite a bit of negative feedback lately about their seed shipments being seized.
