I know a lot of people haven’t had a great experience with their gear, but mine has been pretty positive. Up until now it’s all I’ve been growing and I’ve found a couple definite keeper phenos, and unfortunately lost one as well.
Anyway they just came out with their own “interpretation” of zkittlez. I refer to their site pretty often for info on stuff I’m still growing, and this one has me intrigued. When I say “interpretation” it’s because I’m reasonably sure they reverse engineer a lot of stuff. I think they probably do have at least a couple elite American cuts, but I’m also reasonably sure that they use a lot of their own shit that they’ve been breeding for years and create hybrids of the same name (see OGK, GSC, sour D) that have very little to do with the ones we know and love. Their GSC is a cross of their OG and their Durban and is probably gonna be pretty different from SFO grown cookies. That’s my theory on how they operate and why their prices are so low, anyway.
So I don’t know much about zkittlez or her parents. Never seen them at the dispos out here and never chanced across her in Colorado. I’ve always heard she’s one of the ultimate taster strains and to me taste is by far the most important trait. I’ll keep a super tasty pheno with a lower yield around over a high yielder that tastes bad.
Something tells me that since I have no frame of reference regarding this strain, I won’t be disappointed. So far the only strain from nirvana that really disappointed me was their $15 blue mystic reg seeds. One pheno tasted god awful and the other was decent but unremarkable. On the other hand my white widow from them is absolutely top notch.
Obviously this strain is so new that nobody will have grown it out yet, but I’m wondering if anyone would be interested if I did, and if anyone can tell me more about the American version. $35 for a 5 pack of fem beans is not a bad deal. One good pheno will make it totally worth it and even though I’ve gotten bad phenos in every pack, I have yet to get a pack of feminized beans from them that hasn’t had at least one really top shelf one.
