New 1st time grow, all input appreciated.

Hey everyone, I have spent alot of time browsing these forums and decided to sign up. My friend got some cannalope haze seeds and decided to grow 5 of them, all 5 germinated and spent 2 weeks in seedling stage, My friend kept in vegitiative for another 5 weeks for a total of 7 weeks before flowering, all plants were almost 3 feet tall and after week 1 of flowering he realized that he had 2 male plants, he killed them obviously. it is now ending week 2 of flowering and there isnt a hole lot of flower growth but there is many pistils and what i assume are starter buds.

His setup contains the following:
1x 120w LED Quadband light
3x 100w CFL lights
1x Rotating fan
The entire operation is in a shower with white tiles and has great reflection and drainage. and built in ventillation to the washroom.
He is using Dr schultz fertilizer 10-15-10drops and also has 15-33-15 powder mix ( which is better for which stage)

cant think of much more at the moment, but all input is appreciated as i know i am a newb!

How do Bongo, I,m a new user here myself and am still getting to grips with how to use the site, but this grow looks interesting and your plants look nice and healthy, so I'll subscribe to this thread and throw in the odd comment if thats OK. Wont be long till your buds are popping out.

the led is slowing ur down get 2x 300 watt cfls parantly any less than 300 watt on led is not worth using and the 300 watt cfls are really cheap anyways

OR ur flowers are j ust slow flowerers

I agree with URKG. Probably not enough light. Recommended is 50 watts per square foot. Multiply length x width x 50. Thats your magic number.

Good luck, they look great BTW ! Nice job so far.

Really digging the setup. I also like when people aren't committed to the Hydro store nutes. I personally am because its really easy to compare results with other growers if we're all using the same or similar stuff, and I guess the cost over the course of a grow isn't that bad, but they really rape you on prices with the hippie re-branding of normal ferts. The 15-33-15 I guess technically would be good for all stages, best suited for flowering, but whenever I see nutes with high numbers like that I'm always suspicious there's a lot of salts, which can be an especially big problem if you are not managing your mediums with high tech devices. I'm not familiar with the Dr. Shultz stuff, but pretty much I think anything is fine if you don't over do it. Without getting into big details, and there are forums for it, N-P-K. N for rooting/veg, P and K for Flowering.

Also look at the lumens value of your bulbs, in relation to your grow room, and plant size. I run 2 x 20w/1200 lumens over fairly small plants, in a confined space, and they love it (but could easy take more)

Also, I have found that I can hang these bulbs within 1inch or 2.5cm of the plants with NO heat stress... and CFL's loose a hell of a lot of light 3 or 4 inches from bulb. If you have the abililty (cable length etc) try and lower those CFL's, and maybe build a reflector to stop light escaping above them. you may not think that you are losing much, but i've found every last extra bit of light helps. Here is my example of a home made reflector, https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/473697-3000-lumens-low-heat-cfl.html, but looking at your set up, you'll easily have the skills to make something better... Nice work!!

Hey everyone thanks for the responses and valuable input, I checked my friends lumens and they are as follows: 120W LED 4800 lumens, 150w CFL 2600 lumens,2x 100w CFL 2250 lumens, he has also added a make-shit reflector for the 150w CFL that he made from an old lamp. I have also been keeping track of an online youtube journal where someone grew with 120W leds from the same supplier as my friend, I will post a link to his journal, i figure this can give my friend a rough idea?

And below are some attachments to new pics, before he added the 150W with reflector. He is trying to keep heat as low as possible so an HID or MH bulb is not ideal for him.

Really with that space and venilation, throw in even a 150w HPS and hang it higher up with a fan blowing under it and heat won't be a issue and your buddys plants will thank him much!! Just my 2 cents :p

if poss tell your friend to get a few strips of mylar and just stick them to the shower wall, the lights dont seem to be penetrating too well. i dont know how well shower tiles reflect light but i would not say they are very good. your mate will have a nice yield if he has now added another 150w cfl, just to clarify though is it 150w cfl or eqiv of an incandescent bulb. i did try a 90w led with cfls once in the past and to be honest it was nothing compared to mh/hps so i use the led now for veg. also i know this is prob obvious but the cfls were 2700k?
the plants are looking very healthy so give your mate a pat on the back for good job so far.
also be careful moving the plants when your taking a shower, watch out for light leaks!

The 150w CFL also has 42W beside it on the box. And i will get some mylar soon and try that out, thank you. More input is always appreciated!

Haha thanks for the reply Luciferateme, But my friend wont be showering in there for atleast a couple months, and yes they are 2700k, the light almost looks blue and brightens up the place alot.

I dont even know if this is appropriate on this type of forum, but im just looking to get an educated guess on my yield. it is a sativa dominant strain.

I have added some CFLS, I now have a total of 120W LED light, and 176W in CFL bulbs ( 2x 42 watt 2700k, 4x 23watt 2700k) Still need some reviews on my grow as it is my first time and am very willing to learn anything! i now have a total of 15,600 lumens in a 2.5 x 2.25 ft space. I have 3 girls, all cannalope haze.

Hard to give a accurate yield guess from the pics bongo but its definately a sativa so going on my own haze strains two and a half ounces a plant is what I generally get and thats totally dried and ready to go.
