Was considering getting one, wanna quit smoking cigarettes and joints over here are rolled with tobacco...I cant grow enough to afford to be smoking blunts and I like smoking pot!

So a few questions about vapes...

Are they all they're hyped up to be? And can you actually smoke wet buds straight off the plant? Is the flavour actually completly lost?

Thanks in advance.

First of all...flavor is enhanced greatly...don't know where you're hearing all this about vapes but it's a simple method of extracting the effective vapors out of a bud. I for one see some try to vape nugs with moisture still in them, but that just means they're vaping undried and uncured herb...if that's what you intend to do, I don't recommend getting one...you'll be very discouraged and be one of those saying vaping ain't crap.....vapes DO NOT do second duties of drying wet nugs....
That being said, I've been vaping for bout 2 yrs now....started for the stealth of it but now enjoy it for the increased taste and effect minue combustion. I ONLY vape very well dried and very well cured herb and get the most out of the whole process. I have the magic flight launch box for personal daily use and the arizer extreme q for bagging with friends....blast some ass...

Yes you can vape wet buds but the taste is so fugly.

I don't know about the hype but its going to be a different experience. Different experience as that when you vaporize your not burning carcinogens. When smoking your body releases antibodies to fight off the attack so you get a full body high, experience a form of couch lock and generally feel heavier high. with vaporizing you can control the effects as that thc begins to vape around 180c which produces an uplifting head high after that around 210-220c produces an intense couch lock experience (it varies from strain to strain.)

the left over product is called abv (already been vaped) and should vary in color depending on the temps you vape at.180c + produces a light brown abv where as 230c + is a darker brown almost black. you can save this shit up and use it to make edibles/oil. its pretty efficient.

I love combusting as much as Vaping but Vaping is much better imo.

Ahh right, I was planning on only smoking dried stuff with it anyways, but thought it'd be nice to be able to sample a few nugs before they're fully dried. So it tastes well? But Iv heard theres virtually no smell from the exhaled vapour? Thanks in advance for answering my q's, been smoking various bongs and joints for like 10 years, but never vaped!

That's right, there is no smell afterwards. The flavors are great, as long as you're not vaping dirt weed.

If you're going to get a vape, get a good one. I have used cheap ones in the past and they did not do the job. The temps would fluctuate too much one way or the other and some of them had a funny taste. When I decided to try vaping again I bought my Vapor Brother hands free and never looked back. The only thing about vaping that I sometimes dislike, is that it takes a little time. It's not like hitting a bowl quick before you leave the house, you need to have a good 5-10 min at least, IMO ( I'm sure there's a speed vaper out there somewhere)

Also, you can save vaped product and make butter. So you're getting double use.

Happy vaping!

Oh, and yeah you could vape a fresh nug to sample, it will vape once you find a good temp. The flavor won't be there though unless you dry and cure. I also find that effects are better once it dries as well.

Not saying you CAN'T vape wet buds, I did it right after harvest, got high as fuck.

Vaping bud definitely brings out the taste.

So you have bongs? I use my vaporbrothers "box style" and a 14mm ground glass adapter to use it with my bongs. Vapor thats water cooled is simply an amazing experience. I do this because I don't like the smell of smoke in my house. As for smell it really depends on the vape, if I vape out of my water pipes the quantity if vapor usually leaves a smell that's noticeable but a shot of fabreeze takes care of it. My magic flight launch box (portable) barely leaves a smell.

No vapor isn't that hot at all, more like a warm.

Iolite's are sick and 190c will deliver a nice flavorful hit.

when you vape you'll notice that it takes about 2 minutes until you feel the hit.

Thanks for your help man, think Ill definately get one. Even just being able to just have a little sample straight of the plant is very appealing. Can you smoke dried trim with it when you're really stuck? It only evaporates the resin, right?

funny story, I ran out of bud awhile back (I still got my errls) and I vape left over sugar leafs, the taste is tolerable. Still gets me plenty high.

Yes you can vape dried trim, just make sure that you grind it up to increase surface area to get the most from your product.

I second vapor bro's. I have the single ceramic heating element one and its great. It does take a little more time to heat up etc but worth the wait.

I bought the Iolite a month and and a half ago or so. Love it. I taste what I describe as a "soil" taste the first and second draws. (Probably aren't waiting for it to heat up properly). When I am approaching the the 6th or 7th draw I exhale everything, then hit it pretty hard for 8-10 secs. For me, these are killer vape hits. Lots of visible exhaled vapor.

Been snipping the bud with scissors. Really need to get a grinder.

You know when it gets towards the end of the work day and your craving a beer when you get home? I crave the Iolite and chase it with a few beers. Then I'm good.

I use it everyday.

My kids are 10 and 12. They were questioning the "smoke smell" before. Not anymore.

Had a Memorial Day bbq this weekend and had a smoke out in the bathroom by myself. I didn't mind the in-laws one bit.

ya I was quite high but literally it was sowet to even start hitting you had to do 6-8 tokes for it to be hitting optimally.

I have owned the Vapor Brothers and the Volcano. The volcano kicks ass hands-down. No question about it. The bags rule. I'm not even talking about the digital one, which must be even cooler...

Some one on here has plans to build a volcano from a heat gun for like $30.

While it may take some time to get used to the different taste, lack of smoke etc, pretty much everyone I know that switched from smoking to vaporizing does not want to go back. On the other hand, I also know quite a few hardcore smokers who'll probably never give up their tobacco rolled joints..
