The US BEGGED Israel to let us do their dirty work for them, and they agreed (with our development of the bunker buster bomb). And then we backed out of using it on Iran. And Israel said "fine, we'll do it ourselves". And then Obama threatened to shoot down their planes if they did so.

Obama fucked them over bad, and it won't go without some sort of eventual backlash.
