net pot size...

hey peps ,going to try at a DWC/Bubbleponics system would like to know if the size of the net basket matters.want to get some hihg yeilds.any info welcomed.its a bit expensive to buy in my country, so lets grow some hard stuff...

i start in small pots till rooted then move to big ones IMO, bigger pot= bigger plant.

I don't know how this fellow pulled this off. -_- And since it's DWC I'm pretty sure the size of the net pot don't matter. I'd say the size of the reservoir would mean bigger or smaller plants.
I like 6inches net pots myself, though I've seen people use as small as 3 inches. Its up to you depending on size of reservoir and dimensions of lid.

Agreed.

I think if your growing for example a SOG, then 3inch would do the job because of the size and weight of the plants but say if your growing in 15gallon pots than a 6inch might be the better option as the plant will be bigger and heavier so the wider pot will make sure it dosent move.

Last thing you want is the plant falling into the res

thanks peps, i was thinking of growing 2 plants in a 37gallon square container.will 2 6inch net pot do?

Yeah, that would work out.
I have a 30gal tote and 2 10" baskets and they fit.
I would suggest having the baskets as far apart as you can on the res
so the plants will have enough room to grow beside each other.
Mine were growing between each other in the middle where they touched.

How do you increase the size of net pot without damaging the roots? I'm planning to start a small grow germinating 10-12 seeds and aiming to finish with 4 plants. Two strains, two ~18galloon totes. I'd like to start off with small baskets then when i select out the females give them more support in a bigger basket.

Anyone do this?

I started mine using 80mm pots, it was fine to start with but as the plants got to about a foot tall they kept toppling over and the net pot got fully submerged, only good thing is the roots growing thru it keep it together, now they r about 5 feet tall it's a nightmare, I have tied the stems so they can't fall over, my new ones have been put in 120mm net pots, just the weight of all the clay pebs makes me think it will be quite stable, but as a precaution I have litterally bolted the net pot to the lid of the bucket, I will post some pics if anyone wants to see em!!!

whatever size you like really. technically there should be no real difference in plant size from one pot to the next due to where the root actually grow. the only reason i would opt for larger over smaller is their stability. my small pots result in my plants falling over constantly
