I've also looked at this Rhino Pro Carbon Filter 8 Inch 200 X 400mm 800M3/Hr
And this Systemair RVK 150mm 6" L1 New IEC Model 4 5 6
So the Carbon Filter is an 8 Inch and the extraction fan is 6 inch would this work or do they both have to be 6 inch?
Ok can I ask a couple of questions?

What size area are you going to use for growing?

what lighting are you planning on using?

sorry if this has been covered I just want to make sure I understand your setup before I answer properly.

any fan can fit to almost any size filter using reducers.

personally I use 400w HID setup and utilise a 3.3ft x 7ft x 8ft closet with an active growing area of 3.3ft x3.3ft.

I use an RVK150A1 and 150x600mm Rhino Pro.
I also use a SMSCOM fan speed controller to control the speed of my fan. Growing in the U.K. my fan controller barely speeds the fan up much beyond 50%.

the A1 fan is 460m3/h and the 150x600 filter is 900m3/h.

So far I haven’t had to change my filter in a very long time (9years) but I don’t grow all year round. For example I haven’t restarted my grow room since around June when I harvested.

If you’re using less than 600w HPS (350w LED) and are located in a cool climate then the A1 RVK AND 600mm rhino pro will see you right for a decent amount of time.

if you’re using 250w or under then a 5” RVK would be ample.

Good stuff, I've been doing my research on how much power I need to clear what will be my new tent 2m x1m x 2m rather than get into reducers and what have you I think I'll stick with the 6 inch kit which will be overkill for my area, but better that than under kill.

I haven't grown in years, but when I last did, the summer temperatures were very challenging and there was also some odour leakage. I will get a fan controller so the 6 inch fan doesn't overpower the 6 inch carbon
Filter.
I have better heat evacuation and of course higher powered odour control. I will be growing primarily with LED's this time around, so summer temps will be within recommended ranges. Although I will be throwing in a 400 watt HPS for a few weeks in flower (week 3-7) to reap the benefits from both worlds.
So yes, the plan is looking good.
PS. I'll be using up to 570 watts of LED in flower, going up to 870 watts when I add a 400watt HPS in week 3 to week 7 of flower to really cook those babies during their biggest growing phase. They will start and finish with just LED's though.

I had my friend put together a diy ONA bucket. Took a 5 gal bucket, drilled 30 holes or so top in the top half of the bucket all along the circumference. Bought some soil moist (available at most hydro/hardware stores) and a gallon of ona. Mixed that in the bucket. Bought a small Honeywell fan to suck air into the bucket from the top and pushes out the scented ona from the holes in the bucket. I know there are threads with a (better) description of this contraption. Been running it for a month or so. Have to re-up the water-ona mixture every couple days. Works quite well, can't smell the grow from outside the room. You can adjust the ONA depending on the level of smell ur plants are producing. Hope this idea helps. Happy Growin' mate ;)
I would rather smell the dope, than ona. It is equivalent to not showering and thinking the deodorant makes you not stink.

Yeah, I'd rather smell the dope too. But circumstances don't allow it. What's more, you can't really smell either outside the room.

I run an 8 inch vortex S line fan and filter directly outside and you can still smell it, although it smells more like acetylene then weed when its filtered.

My basement used to smell when i was exhausting back into it. The little bits that slipped by would accumulate down there. Make sure your connection to the filter and any others inside the tent is backed up with tape, and add a second filter on the exit side of your exhaust.

I think you're correct about the accumulation. And a second filter is a great idea. Thx man.
