Neighbor Safety - Fan Noise

I live in a row home and have the lights in the basement. The only direct way I can think of getting outside air in is the dryer exhaust that goes out the front side. I want to suck the air using a duct fan from hardware store.I've never seen one of these fans in action so I don't know how much noise it makes.

I'm worried that someone outside might notice the noise of the fan or that the air is being sucked in.

Any thoughts, please???

run like 4 ft of ducting from the dryer vent, then the fan, this length + the isolation of a basement will dampen the noise.
where do you dry your clothes if you arent using the dryer vents?
i would imagine that if someone hears fan noise coming from a dryer vent they would think its a dryer. its not a legal cause for suspicion.

it would actually be a better idea to use existing air in the basement for the intake and exhaust through the dryer vent, this way you keep a more stable temperature and optimal co2 & humidity levels

Thanks for the advise.

Actually, I was just going to use the fan to pull the air into the basement, and not directly into the tent. I was thinking of it as a source of fresh air. Is it not a good idea?

Not knowing all the measurements, seems to me that 4" will be to small. That said, I bet you could just pull intake from the basement itself. Your basement is not airtight. Pull the cool basement air to control air temps inside the grow room. The exhaust will be the focus. Remember the 3 golden rules, No Tell, No Smell, No Sell. Scrub that exhaust. Run ozone. Ona in the flower stage. Tell more about the room.

Right now there is no room, i just have the lights hanging there. But i am in the process of planning one.
I have a 1000 and 600 hps. I was thinking a 6 x 6 x 5'10 room but may make a smaller one because I want to hang the lights vertical. i need to plan things out first because those those things make alot of heat. But i hear vertical helps with that.
I think i will use tempered hardboard and line it with 2 mil milar.
For the veg room, i think i'll use cfl for now, upgrade to 400w later. I may make this room out of white panelboard, bcz its cheaper.
Any advice will be great :)
