Neem Oil & Little white jumping larvae

I have 3 Lowryder 2's growing in coco coir in a wilma drip system. Yesterday i noticed an abundance of little white jumping maggots in the res and around the bottom of the pots in pools of run off. When i water manually they jump around in the coco. I can't see anything flying around yet in the room though.

I was feeding 2 -3 times a day during lights on for 15 mins on the drippers but now i have reverted back to hand watering until i have sorted this. I have put some bug killer in the res and some are getting flushed out during feeding so those ones aren't going to be reproducing.

I have been reading all morning and it appears to either be Gnats or Springtails. I am going to grab some Perlite now and cover over the top of the pots and i think i will order myself some neem oil.

Wanted to throw it out there, what are your experiences with neem oil? Does it work or am i wasted my time waiting days for it to come in the post....

Thanks

I've used Neem oil to help control spidermites. 2 tsp in 1 qt. I don't know if it would work directly in the resevoir as it's a foliar application. Believe it or not I also use a No Pest Strip.(It comes in it's own little hanger) I hang it in my grow room and I haven't had any bugs in a couple of grow cycles.
I've never heard of jumping maggots ,they sound nasty.

I believe those are plant lice and you wont kill em but they wont bother your grow if you can stand to look at em.

thanks for replying.

I can't see anything on the leaves or stalks, they just seem to be in the water and medium. Maybe its early days, but looking at the run off i can see ones of all sizes which makes me think they are breeding in the soil.

I've not seen one single flying thing, although i did fish a small fly out of the res about 4 days ago - it was already dead.

I found this little critter dead in the tent, its a gnat. Id say these were probably their larvae, but all dead now courtesy of the neem oil :)
