ok i have a ge 120 wtt plant light and potting soil and schultz orchid plant food 19-31-17 can i do this for my frist also do i need a fan it is only one plant i am broke so trying to peice something togeather also i put my seeds in damp towlettes and am bout to plant root down after planting how long do i keep my lights on a friend said 24/7 for 5 days then i dont know from there my add makes it hard to look at all the posts so if i could get some in sight that would help i need to know what i can do with what i have a get the best results

I hate to say it but from my experience, those plant lights are crap. I'd get some CFL instead. They are not as hot so you can keep them very close to the plant. You'll need more light and need bright daylight (6500). Incandecent lights are the worst to use. I think 20-4 or 18-6 lighting is fine. a fan will help make it strong so it can stand up on its own. With so little light, the plant will stretch making the fan more important. I did a test grow your way and got almost nothing (1/8 oz). Fine for learning but not worth it for the yield.
