Need urgent advice to save my germed seeds

I had my seeds spot and immediately placed them in potting mix/ perlite and placed them under lights. that was last night but today I read that it is better to leave them in the dark until they break ground so I turned the lights off, misted the cups and stuck my heating pad under my tote. should I have just left them under the light or was it the right thing to do by turning the fluoro's off? by having them under the light for around 18 hrs and then cutting them off from any light source until they beak ground, will this effect them?

...you mean a a small white tap root? or is it yellow/green?,,,if it is yellow green i would leave just the tip flush with the top of the soil and mist the top soil with a water bottle...if it is white i would bury it 3/8 of an inch under the soil and water it.

if they are in the soil it is dark...the light is not penetrating the soil
Makes perfect sense! I see your reputable on here so if you dont mind me asking another question, I would appreciate your help. My tote is pretty big but the heating pad is only about 1/3 of of the size of the tote so i placed the pad under the tote in the middle. the totes pretty thick so should i just set the heating pad to high? do you think that that would be good enough or do i even need the heating pad under it at this point? thanks

yeah just bury the white root carefully in the soil and water... i like to water the solo cup i use..then take a pen or pencil and make a 3/8 inch deep small hole and gently drop that seed inside and back fill lightly and add a few drops of water

do you still have them in the dark, under a heating pad or anything like that until they break surface? I know its hard to believe due to my question but Ive actually germinated with great success in the past but it just seems to slip my mind on when I introduced them to light. Too much smoking I guess lol

Me and my cousin was trying to decide which one to keep as a mother to continuously take clones from, looks like you just helped me decide....thanks again! If you get some time (dont have to be today) but if you get some free time on your hands can you check out a question I asked on another site and give me your input. been trying to find a friendly smoker with a little bit of knowledge to help me out. if your busy then dont worry about it but if ya get some time can you check this out and post on here your thoughts. thanks!

most people on here are pretty friendly/knowledgeable ...i agree with the one guy who said the sunshine mix and worm castings is best bang for buck... sunshine 4 and one compost/worm castings and i really don't even add nutes until the plant is 2 months old and huge ....i have no history with any of those strains except the g13 PE ...great bag appeal and smell...good daytime smoke but not a real heavy hitter...easy to clone and grow and reacts great to being topped multiple times....should not have a problem pulling 8 ounces off that PE outdoors ...finished in chicago weather 2nd week of october...pretty bug resistant and fairly mold resistant with huge colas ...

yea, Im looking forward to getting the finished product of the PE. would love to have around 8 oz's of the PE. Ive heard some good things about each of the strains that I ordered. The KC Brains TNR is supposed to be capable of yielding up to 2 lbs (prolly over exagerated) but I usually dont set my expectations too high that way I wont be dissapointed. One thing Ive learned about outdoor grows is the fact that you never know what may happen but I have an excellent secluded spot with plenty of sunlight. I cant seem to find any sunshine or promix anywhere close to where I live. would it be worth paying the money for shipping that much soil instead of mixing my own?
