Help brain storming grow in progress move?
Hey all, I will likely need to move my current grow, biggest plants are in 3 gal air pots, and a between 3ft and 4ft including pot height. CAM00045.jpgNeeding to move them out of the house past non 4:20 friendly room mates, then thru apartment complex into the car, across state and into new house. First thought for me was tall boxes, but I was blown away 40+ inch tall boxes cost between $15-20 plus per box. here are some examples:

http://www.amazon.com/EcoBox-Golf-Ba...=1416375203328

For that price I could sure order a lot of seeds, or buy a lot of clones / teens instead of buying boxes. Thoughts? Ideas ? Resources? ( East Bay central cali)

thanks!

Um, wait. Please realize that yu'll be royally screwed if caught midtransit by police in yur car full of plants. If yu use any of or varation of my thoughts and get caught up, don blame me ;) So my first advice wud be too jus scrap and start fresh if yu can. Jail and fines will significantly outweigh your restart fees.

But if yur okay wit the risks...

How long is the drive and what kind of car?
If yu can get a good estimation of shut down to startup time itd be easier.
Id say jus cut them down to 1ft and throw em in trash bags. They'll think its night all day. Give em some air once in awhile and drive swiftly but normally.

cali east bay Legal grow. ( minus the washy fed stuff) Sorry I did not Provide all information needed.
so room mates if they saw, maybe try and stiff me my deposit + lose a rental reference ( big deal in bay area tight rental market).
Reason to conceal in transport to the car: kind of niegbor hood I live in it would mean home invasion in the near future, some idiot thinking plants means buds or money. (Not to nice to risk that for my x roomy's at that point)
about 130 drive, oooold true station wagon. If all goes perfect They will have two new tents waiting at the new site. Garage at new site so unloading done out of sight.
Again sorry for leaving those little bits out.

Box up the small plants and chop the plants that are a hassle.
Definatly a thought. Been thinking try and transport " bare root" protected from light and dry, but without the pots could fit in a much smaller space?hmmm

its coo jus tryna help ya out.
So if yu plan to have a spot to unload safely, perfect.
Was that 130min? Or 130miles? ..either way (seriously, doesnt matter which >.>) thats not long or far. But since it sounds like yu wanna cut costs, yu may have to take a loss...in plants

Best bet is to wait until thanksgiving. I would guess most of your roommates will be visiting family if they have any local. Rent a econo van from uhaul.

I would just stake your plants and tie them to the stake. Put a blanket over them and carry 1 by 1.

So you're growing 3-4 foot plants under your roommate's radars? I'd be pissed too considering you guys are probably splitting the power bills. Well that's a lot of wasted time if you go back to seed. Are they vegging or flowering? Your best bet will be getting a Uhaul though and tossing them in there. Regardless though make sure your gas tanks topped off so you have no pitstops. Some chump change for boxes and a Uhaul is nothing more than a drop in the bucket all things considered.

they are in flower, kinda expected the move / transfer, so put everything on 12/12 thinking a partial immature harvest was better than none. And utilities . . . thats a joke I pay $1200 a month they pay $700, that includes when I add in the utilities ( leds are awesome) electric is only about $90 a month, and tv / internet like $115 :0P thanks for opinions and Ideas so far

If moneys tight hell I'd get a box of big garbage bags and set em down in there and tie the top shut. I wouldnt pitch them though, too much money and time goes into veggin them bitches.
I would think garbage bags may be a little easier than stiff cardboard boxes when it comes to transporting them. Worst you can have is maybe a few bent branches that will fix themselves.

Dude, spend the money and do it right! Rent a uhual truck and put them in the back. Load it up with some air fresheners. If it was me, I would get the big boxes and transport them to and from the truck that way. You could cover them with garage bags but the boxes are more legit looking.
