the light i am trying to use is one of those energy saving 300 watt fluresent spiral light is this light ok to use to grow one plant? the light is a 300 watt soft white will it still grow one plant ok? 
need to know if this lighting is ok

Yep...or get two 150's on a Y splitter and put plant in middle...it'll all work..
