Greetings growers,

MUST BE STEALTH. Will be locked always. I keep the closet smelling ok with candles and shit. its my chill zone. I took a yard chair and put it in so I can smoke. I want to have a light proof cab,Lockable as well. I will cover the inside with panda film or something. i used my slippers as a ruler. I am going to do an auto. One plant at a time. Ill use dwc.

Where to buy a plastic cabinet about 4 foot tall and two feet wide two or three feet front to back. Smell control in a cabinet that small. Whats a realistic light to use in a cab? I must insist on a cool tube. Would a 250 w cool tube be safe? any suggestions on fans? what is right using a cool tube and some sort of carbon filter? ill duct it out to the closet I sit in. Ill handle any smells since I smoke in there.

I built a cab years ago. for me it all starts with finding the right cab. Plastic is fine with me. I know about installing dwc. I know how to grow. I have 17 grows to date. Took 5 year break. Cops suck here. Nazi weed haters. Give me a link to a cab I can shop for? ill search on my own but I believe this group to be the best growers group I have ever been a part of this group knows all.. . Thank you in advance

I won't be much help. I'm done with cabs. Mine is 4 ft tall and I almost always have to take them out because the plants get too big. I suck at short cab grows for sure. If I were to buy anything. It would have to be at least 5 ft tall interior space. Good luck. Lots of guys are successful with cabs.

27 inches wide and 4 feet max. I will make it light proof and soundproof. I will have air filtration active before first bean is popped. Im seeing some on like home depot but I need better prices. I will do one thing a month. First is cabinet and dwc supplies. Then lighting and ducting out into a closet,.

Is a hps 250 w too much? not enough? I'm going to use cool tube to carry that heat right out.

Im thinking of getting the tall cabinet. I will line it with panda film. just need one sheet of it. I need the room to use cool tube, carbon filter and ducting and fan. if I buy a 400 hps that's switchable, can I run it at 250-300 without damaging it? I want dense nugs.

like I said ill go dwc, thinking about just going with a bubble bucket.

I am poor so I hve to get one thing at a time. Cab for October. dwc setup and light November. carbon filter last since I have a little time before it sinks bigtime. Ill just use smell good shit in the closet.

My main concern with using an hid is heat and if you place the light within 18" you're gonna experience heat stress. So with a 12" dwc that leaves you with just 18" to grow. You'll produce maybe an oz or 2 off of 1 plant but if you're satisfied with that then all the power to ya.

yes heat is a big problem but a cool tube will remove most of the heat. Ill just need to either keep the closet open or duct the hot air into the attic or something.

Im thinking maybe I need a smaller res then a 5 gal bucket.Im gonna cut a hole in the bottom shelf and sink the res in it. I store my air pumps and power cords under there so they have no chance of getting wet.

Measures 25-5/8 by 18-7/8 by 69-3/8 inches (LxWxH);

so by my math its 5 feet tall. If I use a smaller res I will have plenty of space between the hid and plant.
Ill hang the cool tube on chain so I can raise and lower the light.

Could someone suggest a fan that would work to move the air thru the carbon, cool tube, duct to vent?

What rating should the fan be?

I have a cabinet roughly the size your planning to use and had to shut it down during the summer because I couldn't keep it below 90 degrees.
I have a switchable 400 hps/mh and even on 250 it was too hot.
If you haven't bought the light yet if say u really should look into a cob led rig. It will cost you 400 or less to build.
Get a 6" fan filter combo like this
http://m.ebay.com/itm/iPower-4-6-8-10-12-inch-Inline-Fan-Carbon-Air-Filter-Ducting-Combo-HPS-Grow-/181153049913?nav=SEARCH

Then u can use a smaller 3-4" cpu fan in the bottom for air in.

Good luck

I just don't know bout pc fans intakes. they don't move much air.. my first cab was only a two shelf. Maybe 2 feet tall. I grew one plant at a time but my reoccurring problem was heat. How about a 4 inch inline as intake and 6 inch inline for vent out? would the 6 been enough?

I used a 4" pic fan with an inline booster out. 3" pc in
Didn't work

Then I tried a 4" inline out with the 3" pc in and it didn't work.

The air in isn't the problem.
It's removing the heat as quickly as u can that's why I say get a 6" inline out. Put it on a speed controller so u can adjust it as needed and for sound etc.
A 4" pic fan will move enough air in to keep up. And give u some pressure in there.
Have a oscillating fan or two blowing across the tops of the plants.

I tried a square boxed in reflector first and then switched to a batwing style one with the duct sucking from right above it.

Not sure if u have the cab or have already modified it but if I were doing it over again I would exhaust the hot air straight out the top.
Right now I have the exhaust coming out the top back left corner and the intake down on the bottom right corner and I was never sure if the hot air was just being sucked back in.

Havent bought it yet. Im going to be using a filter so the 6 inch combo will vent the hot air. im thinking about venting the hot air into the attic. it will be clean just hot air.. Ill have a fan trained on the plant. another fan pointed up to the light. . Im going to take my time and plan the build. its a plastic cab but once I apply white poly all light leaks will disappear. I will be thinking of res size. I think a 5 gallon bucket is a mistake if I went that way.

How big a res do you use per plant?

ok ill pick up a 4 inch pc fan. mount it low near the deck. Run the vent duct either top or side. since its a 6 inch I figure that would cause a negative pressure. I covered last deck in aluminum tape but not convinced it helped at all. Im thinking about making a cutout so only the area of basket I want to get light. will not allow algae to grow early on.

I think I will put eye bolts along the sides just to make lowering or raising the light easier. I think im going to modify whatever res I have to allow me to do res changes by turning on a water pump. Ill wire it to a switch. hook up a hose into a bucket and flip switch.
Also going to install a pvc pipe down one corner thru the deck and into the res. I can open it, hook a hose to a water pump in a water bucket. wire that one to a switch too. semi auto fill and drain.

I used those plastic kitty litter pails just cut holes in the lids for a net pot
Drilled a small 1/4 hole in the lid and ran an air line in.
I used a 10 gallon tote before the same way too crept that had 12 plants in it

I wouldn't use a plastic cabinet.
If your willing to go to all the rest of the work you really might as well buy or even build a wood box.
Why plastic?
