I am getting a new place set up and i am looking to go cmh because i only have a 100 amp service and can run more units than a 1000 watt hps.

Looking to run 2-8hooded flower rooms of 630.
7.75 Celling height.
i will run co2

Can i run 8 lights at 2.8 amps each
2 ac each at 12.2 amps
16 fans 8 amps
room lights off 3 dehumidifiers 7.8 amps each or 23.4
and lights on room dehumidifier 7.8 amps

i come to a total of 86 amps is this doable.

What should i except for a lose going from 1000hps to CMH?

with my short celling height , this is why i am thinking of going CMH and not 1000 watt.

Thank you.

Even considered 600w HPS? It's the most cost effective and you get most bang for your bucks.

With vented hood 600w HPS is probably your best choice in a tent or 2 x 400w MH/HPS. CMH is not worth the extra money IMO after I've tried them for a couple of runs. You're better of with regular MH and HPS. Cheers!

Is this in a basement? Have u seen those 630s in action? They can get hot. What are u using for temp control?

I'm not saying to not run them. Just wanted to hear what u we're doing about to the heat. I just started running LEDs and I love them esp for heat
Heat is not the main problem with low ceilings. It's the light distance and high intensity that causes problems with light bleaching etc.

Heat can always be vented out, but you can't do anything about the light intensity other than dimming the light down and dial in the strength either with ppfd/umol meters or plant response.

I run 8 led's with 7 foot ceilings. I can't vent any heat out my basement so I run mini splits. You can easily keep them short with flip heights and use a par meter for bleaching. If he can't vent the heat from 630s heat would be a big problem no matter what his height canopy is.

Thermodynamics. I need to vent out just the same amount of heat with LED's and HID's. The main difference is the IR radiation/heat with HID's. That's why you run LED grows at slightly higher temps than HID's.

Like I said the heat is the same by physics but you can't do that much with the intensity other than dimming down with low ceilings.
