i came under some shitty circumstances as of late, my girlfriend, of 4 years, and i are breaking up and our current landlord is her employer and i dont have a choice in staying at this property. im in a super sketchy situation where i now cannot grow here either... so i have to find a rental spot or a house to purchase. i HAVE to continue growing or my patients will suffer horribly, and so will i. is there any rentors or landlords on this forum, or even someone who might know someone that can help me out. im looking for a rental in the price range of 800-1400 a month what is medical marijuana friendly and also located in the metro detroit area. i also have a small well behaved dog that i HAVE to bring with me. i am very clean, respectable and i also love music. so i would need a space large enough to accommodate my recording studio and a large basement for my needs. i dont want to release a lot of personal information on here but please PM and i would love to talk over the phone. i really would like to move out asap and the landlord would HAVE to know about my medical. i have all my cards and they are current to date. i checked craigslist but i am having a hard time finding a landlord who is willing to not prohibit medical marijuana growing. i really hope i get some responses, because im in a SERIOUS bind. thanks in advance!

800-1400 month, you won't have any trouble bro. I would suggest buying a house on land contract, much more freedom.

Nah bro. Many many landlords run your cash and not your credit. You should be able to get set-up easy. Avoid rental companies, shit like that. What area in SE michigan. The fact you grow lets many landlords know that they will actually get their rent. You will be alright.

Step #1: devote a notebook just for noting the many details you'll have to sift through to find your new place.Next pick your ideal hoods and drive the shit outta em w a pen looking for signs. If you rent you'll have to thoroughly interview the LL to know what you'll be in for... Ask many probing questions while presenting yourself. Make some headway... I'll stop back!

My friend rented a place through an agency LL lives out of country, never been to property. I know the routine to tell LL to make sure they aren't the type that snoops around, had to recite it many times... You interview Them, not the other way around. good luck 

depending on the community and wether the house is a registered rental, you'll likely have inspections from the city every few yrs or annually. are you ok w that? rural locations are better usually for no inspections. the main things are you need ok references from previous LLs and a few personal references. Finding a mmj LL, unless through a personal contact may be more difficult than just doing the regular wide search. And you need to confidently convey that your rent is the 1st bill you always pay and you have mega respect for their investment property and may cosmetically slightly improve it w tlc.
The 'routine' isn't really until a second meeting.. see the property, as many as possible- you'll have most of your answers from that initial meeting without effort. Important to politely ask, "so do you live in the area"? If you get a realtor or agency you an ask a million questions without being suspicious.

Update us where you're at some... Do you know your ideal areas, narrow it dwn. Take your notebook to the streets bro..
Give ya 'routine' dialogue ideas later, after...

You are single now. Roll downtown.
If you are interested in Detroit, I can help you out. There are many good areas. The money you are working with you can buy something nice and be safe as any unsafe suburb.

Find a land contract w almost nothing or 5% down, go for it dude there is more real estate on the market then I've ever seen. Bank lending is tight so there are lots of owner financed LCs.
