Need some advice

I just got 4 plants today from a friends dad. He had them on 16-8 light cycle 530am to 1030pm. He just had them under Florence lights. I'm putting them in my 4x4x7 tent with a 600watt mh / hps. I want to run the lights at night though cause the temps in the tent were getting up to 80 81. how do I switch to running the lights at night? Will it stress the plants if I switch really fast? Like extra light or extra dark period?

As long as they're still vegging you should be fine. If you change the light schedule now I would suggest you let them veg for at least another 2 weeks to prevent herm.

just leave skip a dark period, and switch to new schedule. the cannabis is indifferent. they are not going to hermie from that. 80F, at canopy level is a great temp. no worries there, but do as you will.

If anything give it the extra day cycle since its in veg and like kota said let them stablise over a couple weeks. Give em a light seaweed solution if ur that worried about stress the first couple days.

In my situation they go straight from 24/0d to 12/12.
At 16/8d they are most likely showing preflower unless they are small seedlings.
IDK what your buddies dad had in mind but 16/8d is a crazy schedule.
80F is ok. Just go 12/12, you can always get more plants from your buddies dad:)

No matter what you do, or how bad you screw it up.... you can not "CAUSE" a plant to turn Hermie in Veg...

[Plant may be a hermie, because of poor genetics... not your fault]

However you want to change the lights, and to what ever time frame you want to run go for it....

Measure the temp between the top cola and the lights... this area, will have a 4-7 RH point drop, and a 4-7 degree higher temp....

So just be careful... you will be fine... your plants will be fine...

People can attempt to imitate nature if they like but the fact is nature on it's own can't grow bud like people have learned to do so in the past 30 years, by altering the enviroment in a controled grow-operation.
24/0d for veg and 12/12 for budding.
