ok so im low on a budget for a grow room. I was going to use cardboard but after reading up on it ive decided that will be my last resort. Im using the frame from a closet that you can buy at walmart (pictured below), and i was going to use cardboard lined with aluminum tape for the walls, but like i said that is now my last resort. someone told me to use plywood, but im wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives...like i said im on a low budget...:?

I bought one of those too. The way I used it is I put all my clothes in it. Closet is now empty so I painted it and set grow up in there. 2x4 Flood table with a 600W light.

Not sure how much that frame is but you might save a bit of money building your own. You can buy 3/4" PVC for about $1/10ft and joints are usually $.25-.50. You'll just need some black/white poly to cover it which is about $50-60 for 10x100 roll.

EDIT:
10x100 = $70
10x50 = $43
10x25 = $25

I'm guessing about $60 for a 6x6x8 or two for about $50/ea. 6x3x8 for about $40.

If you're set on doing a closet grow it would be helpful to check out your local thrift store. They always seem to have some heavy furniture pieces around.

history101 is right you can get lots of randoms from them. You can drive around looking for stuff/old/broken that you could scavenge. Also look into a 4X8 foam panel. 1 side is reflective too.
1" x 8' x 4' Insulated Sheathing
under $11 is pretty good. Buy a roll of Duck Tape grab a knife smoke a :joint: and I bet it'd work. Good Luck

Coat Hangers can be bent to help with tons of stuff too

Hey im new to this site and this si my first post but i just set up a grow room out of an old dresser i had. I painted it white inside and used ceramic light fixtures with 10 cfl bulbs 6500k i got it all at home depot for around $100 i recycled the wood from disassembling the dresser and used most of it. It was a cheap and stealthy way to make a grow room and it works great with no heat issues with the cfl,s

Yeah see thats exactly what I'm looking to do

I was thinking about an old stereo speaker one of the big ones

I could Hollow that out and get something going with that,
But a dresser doesn't sound too bad either, I actually have one I don't use too much
