Need help with lighting for autoflower.

Here is my white widow max autoflower.
She is 4 weeks old today.
She is in a 3gallon smart pot with coco.
I know I need a bigger and better light.
But here is what she is under now.
I have a 150w ufo led blurple, maybe 75 actual watts.
I have 2 40w cfls 2700k on both sides of her.

I was wanting to if I should dump the ufo lighting and add 4 more 40w cfls above her.
Because I dont think the blurple light is doing much.
I know a bigger hps would be great, I just cant buy it yet.
This is just a hobby grow, so trying to keep it simple.

Should the 2 cfls on the side be moved up higher?
I also have a all red led panel, would this work instead of the ufo light?

I never do just one plant it isn't worth it. I did my first time but now I see it was a waste of time and I'll never go back to Hps from LED. Those Cobs are the best bang for the buck.

If I were you I would get that 400w cob and use your CFL and UFO for side lighting. I would take clones off of that plant and fill a small closet to the max so this little experiment is worth your time.

Definitely not enough light even if you get more CFLs you would have to get a good bit to make it sufficient. The Nodes are so far apart from the plant stretching for light. See how everything is dense and compact, the light has alot to do with that but genetics also play a big part in plant structure.

Hello thank for the reply.
The plant is a autoflower.
You cant take clones.

She has about 6-8 to go.

My 2¢ ....

Shitcan the UFO ...go buy a T5 lamp ... Keep spirals for sides ( with reflector. )
CFL " CAN " grow ... But the key is surrounding the whole plant with light.
T5 is a great way to grow without jumping on the HPS train ...
Quantums are fantastic ( but sell out very fast ) ...

This a straight CFL grow , I did a couple years back .... All CFL bulbs ... 14 in a hood above and side lighting.
I grew Hempy style plants and it gave me nice dense nugs.

I just read your last post and your auto should be sexing out pretty soon
( day 30 ish to 40 ) , but you can STILL course correct and throw more light at her to better the result at the end. She will STILL stretch out during the first 2-3 weeks of FLOWER .... So I would get more bulbs and surround her. Hanging bare bulbs wastes light. The most output is from the sides .... But if it is free hanging you are only getting a portion of it. You can get more CFL in there until you decide on T5 or some other setup.

Good luck

Just check the reviews about whatever seller that would be ... There is a lot of hit and run sellers on FLEABAY - it is a great price.

If there is a lot of negatives in the last 6 months - look for another.

Thank you.
I just read the feedback and the light seems good for a small grow.
I was even looking at a 315w cmh light.
What do you think of those kind of lights?

I have 3 of the 315w leg by HTG supply and their PAR output is insane but I don't recommend them for a small area due to heat. They run just as hot as a 400w hps. I highly recommend a cob led and highly don't recommend using CFL due to potency and natural resin production. I used CFL for a couple years before upgrading and the bud never reached full potential. Those Cobs are the bomb and if you have the money grab a 600w platinum LED, they are $700 a piece but I have 11 of them and will never go to anything else.

So do you think the 400w cob would grow just 1 autoflower or a couple of plants?
I found almost the same 400w cob on ebay for about 89.00
I do this just for fun, so really not looking to spend so much on a light.

Hey man, I have one autoflower (skunk #1) under a 400w COB for reference. She was 4 weeks old yesterday.

I am well happy with it, keeps costs and heat low and she's growing perfect.

You have to be careful with distance, 2ft was too close as a seedling and got bit of light stress. 3ft possibly stretched her a little, but pre flower bud sites looking promising.

Have let her grow into the light and she's just 1.5ft from the light now, and is 55cm herself, still growing.

wow very nice.
I have a 31x31x60 tent.
Would that light work for that size tent or do I need 2 of them?
I would like to grow more than just one auto, just too make it worth it.
Thank you for the reply.

It will grow with one but two will be better.

My space is roughly 24X24x78 (65 in height to play with as filter occupies top)

But my cob draws, actual consumption, 280w compared to the 188w in those links, and has 4xbulbs and remote with different growth stages.

What kind of light is it.
The brand name.

Look up S-Mars COB LED, not to be confused with the Mars range

Seemingly China made, like most, which may put off some but it's doing a job thus far.

Will have to see how she finishes up in around 8 weeks.

Check out this setup. I'm using LEVIN 36W E26 bulbs, but those are no longer available. The main point of those is, the 36W comes out to 19W, very strong. Most bulbs lie...

But right now you can get LED-Grow-Light-bulb-Swiftrans-24W-Full-Spectrum-High-Efficient-Hydroponic-Plant for less than $12 if you look around.

AND IT IS 20W!!!

Just put your plant in hot soil (I can send the formula if desired), to stunt its growth. Use an autoflower and preferrabley AK47, Amnesia Haze, or Northern Lights (to keep it short and high trichome count).

All of these are amazingly short and healthy using the LED bulbs.

Yield is about 25 grams each (dried) of Amnesia Haze per plant. Might get up to 32 grams. Cost per month for 6 lights like this (legal in California) is not noticeable on my electric bill. At least, not in the last year of always growing 6 at any time.

It works because you can do 24/7 the entire grow if you pick those plants. Lowryder and white widow also, but lowryder is low in trichomes, and white widow gets too tall for a single bulb. Other than WW, the others do better in this than they do in full california sunshine.
