Need Help With Drying/During, Please Look!

Ok so my circumstances have changed and I don't have a place I can hang my buds. I have a buddy who grows and he says he uses tupperware containers for drying and then cures in mason jars. He says if you trim your plants and put them into tupperware containers, like big ones, and poke holes in it, they dry in 2 weeks about and then you can cure them. Anyone else try this? Need to know if it will work, just chopped them about 3 hours ago...

thanks for any help, and yes I know the old saying "you waited this long do it right" blah blah if you're that type of person don't respond please. I know what I "should" be doing, I've been doing this grow really well and the buds turned out amazing, but I don't have a space to grow anymore and no place to let them hang and dry. I just put as much as I could without packing them into the containers. I was also wondering if I could just burp the tupperware instead of poking holes into them, as I'm cheap and don't want to replace them tupperware. Again, constructive input would be awesome, thanks RIU couldn't have gotten this far without all the help and ABSOLUTE FREAKING WEALTH of information available to growers on this site (not even including all the help people like bricktop/fdd2black/uncle ben give out!) so thank you very much, my northern lights turned out really great!

If you try drying in tupperware i wouldnt leave it sealed for very long at all for probably atleast a week.
Id try paper bags or a cardboard box.
Any of these will make the buds more flat than if you hang them though

I used a window screen on bricks in the attic and it dried nicely just move it around every day so it doesnt get too flattened

If I poke holes in the tupperware would that solve the sealed problem? And I may switch to the paper bag method if you fine folks at RIU think it's a better idea than what I am using now.

And nah I haven't tried a hanging dry method...the point of this thread is that I'm not going to buy anything extra and my options are extremely limited for drying so I need the best way to do it with what I can do.

Mauricelm already said my method, if you cant hang them then you should use a window screen...that way there is air flow coming up thru the bottom as well just make sure to rotate and flip them every so often so they don't get flat on any certain side. I wouldn't dry in tupperware containers because if there isn't enough ventilation you can get mold very very fast even if there is holes poked in the top, i just don't see it being adiquit enough airflow.

I decided to look around and see what I could find to make a homemade drying chamber...found a big ass box and I took 4 hangers, ran them through the box after I straightened them out. I put two hangar lines across the top, two along the bottom. Is that much in a box alright? I also sealed the boxes and closed them, they have handle holes for ventilation though. Is that enough? I'm not sure how much air flow they need, thanks for all the responses I'm thinking this might be the way to go. How long in boxes should I give? I stopped watering 4 days before harvest to dry to keep their moisture lower than if I had watered so I'm hoping they only need 2-3 days in the boxes then I can put into jars. Sound like a solid plan? Also once I put them into jars I'll put some pics up to give you an idea of what I grew, and because I wanna share what you can produce with a WICKED GHETTO setup (just over $150 for the whole setup...yeah I jimmy-rigged most of it).

The entire time growing I kept reading the CFL lights aren't adequate for good buds and that I "need" to invest in a HPS setup...well for all the people who cannot afford HPS, or like me I just didn't have the room to put one in (it would have been way too hot on my plants even with cooling...3 foot ceiling for the loss), as long as you grow your plants right and give them enough light to prosper you can grow bomb ass nugs. One of the cola's I got is as big and thick as my forearm so it can be done!

hanging is defiantly preferred. A box with string will work just fine. You need allot of air circulation when you first chop them

i dont think it would hurt to put some more holes in your drying box, you need adiquit air circulation for freshly picked buds, but you said you didet water the last 4 days? That should make a huge difference in how long you hafta dry them, brcause there already semi dry to begin with. Keep an eye on them...because as soon as them stems crackle when you bend them they are ready to start curing, keep in mind if the stem breaks when u bend it your buds are too dry to cure so keep a close eye on them. As soon as you get to the curing part let us know on this thread we all would be more than happy to guide you thru a great cure.

An as far as cfl's go they are more than good enough for growing. Also they save energy very well, last a long time and put off very little heat as well. I watched a couple buddies harvest some very good bud with cfl's i mean some really fine quality marijuana, but HID lights do have the upper hand on harvesting very heavy crops. However nwaredstar7 you did a very good job buddy +rep

Thanks Drgreenthumb (still one of my favorite cypress hill songs, and part of my blazing playlist lol) and once they are done drying I will put pictures up of my whole harvest. They are smelling amazing and it's day 2 1/2 of drying, going to test the elasticity of the stems tonight when I get a chance. This homemade drying chamber was an amazing idea by the way. I also have some buds curing in the tupperware (just to see if it works for future harvests) and they are drying slower...there aren't any holes poked I just open the container every few hours. I'll be honest though, thank god I only used a few of my worst looking buds for the tupperware because they don't look like they are actually drying like in the boxes haha. +rep for you and others who gave me advice!
