I have a new question again, sorry to keep bothering you guys, but since this is my first indoor grow, and first grow with hydroponics, I am lost. I have read books and threads but get information that contradicts each other. I bought two dwc growers choice kits from Stealth hydro, and they both included nutes, but I also have general hydroponics flora series that I like, because the nutes they gave me for my resovoiur do not list what ingredients are in there, and I have always grown strictly organic outdoors when I lived in California.
I have these two plants that are close to two weeks old, one is a master kush and the other is an Afghani#1 from Attitude. I have other seedlings in rock wool but they are still under a t-5 humidity dome because they are just sprouting, even though they were all put in the humidity dome at the same time. The smaller plant is a afghani#1 and their is only one small root coming out the bottom, the Master Kush seems to be throwing out roots everyday. I have these under a CFL Sylvania 6500k 100 watts with a small fan on them and have been feeding reverse osmosis water, I used baking soda once because I saw powdery mildew but put ph down in it to 5.5. Is that a good ph, I have read others go to 6.0. When should I introduce nutes at quarter strength, or less? And when is is time for these plants to go into their netted pots in dwc? And what would you advise, using stealthy nutes, or flora series? Thanks in advance for ANY help given, you have no idea how much it is greatly appreciated! This is not anything like growing outdoors in Cali for me. I have all the proper instruments, good grow room, I just need to know if they should be put in dwc setup yet, or let more roots grow, and can they have nutes yet? Very low, low strength! Thanks, you guys are so awesome, I wouldn't even have these two seedlings grown right now without you! Love you guys! Thanks

I just started my DWC and when my seeds stuck their heads out or the plugs I put them in the cubes and pot's but others will say to wait till you see the tap root before putting them in cubes. My sprouts are doing great btw so I don't know.
I see you started them right in the cube and I see the tap root so your good to go.

its not gonna hurt your plants to leave them where there at to grow their roots a little more. probably a few more days and you should be good. I like to keep my nutes at 5.8 just because it accommodates more nutes.

Thank you, I thought they were ready to go in DWC, I see the roots coming out so I thought it was time, I appreciate your fast reply, my husband is in a panic, since this is our first. We purchased two dwc kits for our grow room, one for me and one for him, I let him go first, so if he messed up I wouldn't, I am germinating three aurora indicas and two reserve privada kosher kush for mine. I just want to not fail, so if I watched him make mistakes I would know what or what not to do. But I'm starting my germination now. Thanks so much, hugs, marce

Thanks, my husband is going to let them grow a few more days under the cfl to let the roots get longer, what do you suggest what nutes to give, flora series or the ones stealth gave me and add additives, I use great white, gro-trek silica, and compost tea and sea kelp, or do you have any nutes that you can suggest to me for better growing. While in California I used advanced nutrients, I do not want to pay that much, can anyone help with a good nute program they use on their plants?

Btw take the wrapper of the cubes before you put them in the net pot's. Are you two going to start a journal? I would like to watch your progress.

Yes, I want to start one, I was waiting to put in the dwc, but I have posts and pictures from before they sprouted, I have downloaded every available book from kindle on hydro growing, but like I said, many contradict each other, but I certainly will start one, I'm going to check yours out now, I didn't see it before, or want thinking of it, thanks so much for your help, big hugs!

I myself picked up Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice Grow, Micro and bloom. It is expensive and it is my first time useing a trio(I grew in dirt and used Miracle Grow nutes Before switching to hydro) so I'm with you if I need anything else like a bloom booster then I might buy but to me less is more and giving your plants all these chemicals just means more bad taste if not flushed right.

Amen, you got me ordering advanced nutes again, I grew outdoors with great success! I used sensi a and b on some kushy kush big bud, wet Betty and others and even the police out there told me how beautiful my plants were. If something worked great, why change it? We have to keep in touch, I'm so jealous of your grow set up with 5 gallon buckets!

Where did you order your dwc setup from, it's sweet!

Some may say I overspent but The fact it was all there and There is great support on how to set up and use along with very fast shipping I think I did alright(although I did get hit with a duty tax).
I don't mind spending a little bit more as long as I get the results I am aiming for, Thats why I really don't mind paying a premium for nute's as well.

I'm thinking of getting a single bubbler as well from them, I got a side project I want to try and at 40.00 I think it's a fair deal for a complete bubbler.

I've had good luck moving cubes to buckets just after roots show. For the first couple weeks I keep the water level just about the bottom of the basket then start lowering the level as the roots drop. Using a 4" disc bubbler keeps the rocks wet enough. The rest of the grow I keep the water ~2in below the basket. 1/4 nutes at first increasing to full over two weeks. I also set the cubes on a layer of hydroton when germinating and just water the rocks to below the rock wool. The cubes seem to grab what water they need and the roots have a place to go when they peek out.

Its only been a year since I started growing any medicine, in or out. The first six months have the steepest learning curve. I recently posted my current DIY cabinet, there maybe setup tips that will save you headaches. Each harvest leads to more improvements.
