Hello all, im kinda new to the site, and new to growing. well my plants were given to me from a buddy of mine when he went away to the military unexpectedly...well they were about 3 1/2' tall in pots when i got them. i have a total of 8 now(pics to come soon!!!) but now theyre in the ground doing their own thing...well the climate is getting colder day by day...70's or around there...give or take 10 degrees... my plants have some buds on them, but the crystals COVER the buds and leaves...i know theyre not fully grown, but when can i expect to harvest...? i planted them in the ground the beginning of july, and its usually 8 weeks until harvest from flower... they started to flower i wanna say in mid july, early august...when can i harvest them because the weather is getting bad and cold and i dont wanna lose all that hard work... PLEASE HELP!!

Thank You all in advance.bongsmilie:eyesmoke::joint:

They started showing pre-flowers in july. Flowering didn't actually start until a few weeks ago. You got probably at least 6 weeks left.

Yeah depending on where you live, Outdoor to be done properly will be another month give or take a week. You shouldn't be getting frost yet are you? As long as ur not getting a cold frost everynight u should be okay... Once it starts to frost ur gonna run into issue's or harvest.

it hasnt frosted yet. but thanks for the help. they smell amazing and the resin or crystals all over are sticky as hell...loving it thouhg. they look amazing for my first grow. but, i cant really cover them because of where they are, and people will see them being covered. i live in the new england states...so it gets cold for winter, but summer is decent...the average temp now during the days is about 70 and at night its about 50...what should i do with them? some of the tops of the white hairs are purple also...is that a good thing or bad thing?

The purple is from the cold. Not a bad or good thing...just good bag appeal. You shouldn't need to do anything more than what your doing now. Just remember...frost=bad. I mean...1 frost won't be horrible...but you get the picture.

Lettem go man...I promise it'll be worth it. As far as telling a strain...we'll only be able to tell really if it's indica or sativa.

lol, harvest when the high you want is indicated by the trichomes.........you might not have enough time left to reach the mostly amber stage though.

Pay attention to the frost warnings, if you are in eastern mass and south you have longer than if you are in the valley's out western mass/north through northern new england. FROST KILLS. Do not harvest until mid october unless for weather purposes. you will be amazed how they pack on weight the last two weeks. Enjoy.

No, they would not dry or cure properly and may not even get you high. Patience and diligence get you just reward. I wouldn't concern myself with the trichs just yet, you will need to pull them mid october or so. Kush's have a pretty long flowering period.

i am having the same problem, very wet and moldy season, just be on the lookout for bud rot man im close to where u are general area and i have already had some bud rot, my buddy lost almost an ounce to bud rot already, some friedn lost whole plants, got to be on top of that shit u know if not you get screwed, but yea man your plants need probably at least another 2 weeks man unless they are getting rot or mold, cause eventually itll just spread everywhere, you can stop it and contain, but prevention is virtually impossible once infected, if you find mold, just be careful, wear gloves snip it off, dont let ANY spores fall to lower buds, try to catch the infection before it reaches the branch, try not to harvest if at all possible, but if more than a quarter of the plant becomes rot, imo i would harvest, only because its only a matter of time before you come back nad your 2 ounces of fine pot turned into about a quarter of mushy mold spider egg lookin nastiness, icky good luck man
