Need help on when to Switch FF ferts.

Hi, I'm currently attempting my 1st outdoor grow. Moved my plants out to their outdoor spots around the end of May. Been checking up on them 2x a week so far. Every weekend I water with Ph'd water containing Fox Farm's Grow Big and Big Bloom, and I water with just PH'd water 1x mid-week.

Plants seem to be doing quite well. MY question is this:


At what point should I make the switch from Grow Big and Big Bloom to Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom??

I know that indoors, the switch is made when you switch to 12/12 light schedule. Should I make the switch when I see pre-flowers? Or do I wait til sex is shown, pull the males out, and wait for the flowers to start forming before switching to Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom??

I am very happy you're doding well right now, are you fenced in? I ask only becasue those ferts your using are organic and every woodland creature i can think of will dig them up in a heartbeat, thinkihng there's delicous decarying fish jsut aq few feet down through soft soil.

Well, yeah they are fenced in. No signs of animals attempting to get the plants or the soil. I was under the impression that (I think) Big Bloom was the only 1 of the 3 that was actually organic. I don't really care either way...

Can anyone answer my original question?

use big bloom at first sign of flowers.
I'm wondering about the switch too with Tiger Bloom, for I'm using the same fert program you're using, so I'm gonna sit in on this one.

This is what I had originally thought as well. However, you use Big Bloom throughout the grow. I guess it's a "soil conditioner". Essentially Grow Big is for Veg and Tiger Bloom is for flowering. You use Big Bloom the whole time. I understand all this. Here's the soil schedule:

BUT, as you see, the schedule is easy to follow except that it assumes you are growing indoors and switches from Grow Big to Tiger Bloom when you move to 12/12 lighting. I am wanting to know when to make the change outdoors when I can't control the light cycle..

Does no one here use FF trio (Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger BLoom) outdoors??? I really thought they were popular with outdoor growers... Was hoping to have my original question answered by now.

Yes, I use FF's ferts outdoors. Very good results and product.

LOL, everyone seems to reply to this thread but doesn't answer the initial question!

Jonboy, since you've used the FF trio outdoors... At what point did you make the switch from Grow Big/Big BLoom to Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom???

Did you make the switch when the true female flowers started to form? Or earlier when the plants first showed their sex?

when you buy the 3 pack it comes with a feed schedule i start quater strength and work my way up, and bigbloom is for all stages of growth it helps eliminate strees and salt build up

Please read the whole thread before posting... Everyone keeps writing the same thing.. I know there is a feed schedule (I already posted the link), I know the 3 products work.... For the last time:

The feed schedule is written out for indoor growers. They show the switch from Grow Big to Tiger Bloom to coincide with changing your lights from 18/6 to 12/12. Since I'm growing outdoors and don't control the light schedule.. When should I switch from Grow Big/Big Bloom to Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom? Is the switch made when plants show pre-flowers and I pull out the males? Or do I wait and make the switch once the females are starting to form true flowers?

Sry, but every response in this thread is essentially redundant and not answering my question at all.. its like ppl read the last 2 lines of a thread and try to answer without actually reading what I'm needing help with.

It sucks when you can't get an answer. Particularly if folks here actually know the answer. I've never used those nutes. I'm growing my first plant outdoors on a balcony. Anyways, (I'm just thinking out loud here), try to basically use the same logic behind switching to the blooming fert when you start to 12/12 indoors - to the outdoors. When does the amount of sun your plant is exposed to start to lessen, thereby inducing flowering? I think that would be the time to start blooming ferts outdoors. I'm not sure if it's an exact science, tho. If you don't get an answer here you'll have to try it out and report back. Personally, I would wait until I knew the sex of the plants. Once I knew a certain outdoors plant was female, I'd start with the blooming nutes. It doesn't seem to make sense to treat all plants with blooming nutes before you knew whether or not they will actually be females and "bloom". Then again, I don't know shit. Sorry. On the other hand, I've seen posters very quickly correct someone who gave bad advice, when they wouldn't have otherwise bothered to give an answer. Hopefully someone will chime in and let me know I don't know what I'm talking about and give you some real advice.

Thanks pabloesqobar, I really appreciate your response. You are thinking similar to myself. Basically, I have assumed that the best way to go is to keep my current routine going and wait for pre-flowers, rip out the males.. and then once I'm left with only my female plants, I'll wait for the true flowers to form before making the switch. Seems to be the logical answer. I was just hoping that someone with past experience would chime in and make my assumptions validated. Your logic seems similar to mine. I'm going to be using the FF lineup for the first time this yeas as well and I plan on switching to the flowering ferts when they start to show true flowers, and I'm going to consider that week one of 12 12 on the feeding chart. If this is incorrect then hopefully someone will chime in. I'm not sure exactly when to use the open sesame though. I've heard that it's more effective if you time it just right but i'm not sure when that is. I know there are a lot of people who use FF on here, some input would be appreciated.

i would say out door that right when you see the white hairs form would be considered week one flowering .open sesame is used to trigger early flowering sequence,so you shouldnt have to worry about them having true flowers before you start just some white hairs showing would be when i start
