Hi guys! Need some help and advice. Im a newbie ive spent over 1200 on my first grow setup and are currently growing with LEDS. Ive got a carbon filter installed with exhaust and intake vents and fans. Im running a commerical grade air pump and i am currently growing DWC and soil at the same time. Which idk if it is a good idea to have them in the same place. I am currently growing in a 2x 4 gorilla grow tent. With two 300 watt led lights. My main problem is my hydro plant the tips of the leaves are becoming red including new leaves and the plant seems to be growing abnormal but very fast. Roots are in the water and my main concern is i see a very light brown roots but mainly white. Is this the start of root rot if so can i prevent it with hydroguard?

The water looks to deep to me. I have a dwc bucket and I use only two gallons of water/ nutes . Don't know if that is the problem but I read to keep the water 6" below the pot, and my roots hamic over the water until the plant gets a little size on it

Nooooo dont do that the roots should be wet.... People talk about doing that to try to make root stretch but it can stress the plant if it is happy leave it. Stoner myth i leave my water so that the bottom of the net touches it.

water temps? room temps? ro water or tap water? ppm or ec? nutrient strength? humidity? These are all things that factor into your problems. I would recommend growing with soil for a few grows and getting the hang of it before you evolve into hydro. There is not too much room for mistakes in hydro and all things have to be factored in that you may not have considered. Go in your room and get all your parameters of your room and see where you are above or below.

I have not checked my water temp i will do that asap and get back to you, room temps range from 66° to max 78° during the day and night nothing below 62°. I use tap water but wait 24 hours for chlorine to dissapate. Humidity i know has been a problem times to where it drops below 20%. I use a warm vapor humidifier to increase to max 60%. Recently my humidity has been around 30% now without a humidifier and i use low doses i see recommended does as max doses so nutrients i know im not going overboard. I change my resevoir once a week and always check my ph which is within 5.5 to 6.0. Also im not sure what ppm or ec is lol also i know soil seems easier but ive invested so much into hydro theirs no going back in my perspective. Also thanks for the prompt response! Btw im considering to switch to reverse osmosis.

My plant seems to be doing well with the water so high since i am using a large airstone to oxygenate the water.

Dont feed tap water! lower your reservoir temp, its probably close to 76F. Keep your water at 65F and you should be ok. EC and ppm is in reference to the particles in the water.
Here is a chart that shows how the different meters read ppm in reference to EC. You should know what is in your water. Good luck

Root rot got so much worse HELP! I lowered my resevoir water couple inches and added hydroguard. I currently have my carbon filter running to drop temperature within the tent. I just did a water change and it seemed to have made matters worse. I thought changing the water would help. Any suggestions?

lower your water temps and Mix one part of additive-free 35%hydrogen peroxide with ten parts water soak your roots. this will help kill any pathogens in your root zone. I still suggest soil or flood and drain with coco.
