Ok I harvasted this bud 3 days ago. It has been sitting in a plastic box with holes drilled in sides. This mold is recent, with in 8 hours. I checked the buds this afternoon and all was cool. How can I save this bud? What are the methods to get rid of this crap. It just fuzzy right now and does not look as though it's perminatly into anything yet. But I need to kill this fast.

Yeah that's what I have been reading. This TOTALLY SUCKS!!!. This is my biggest bud, about the size of my forearm. Well washed all my bud, and patted the water off with newspaper and then blew off the remainder with my air compressor. The bud is now hanging in the open basement. I was drying before in the basement with issues. But nothing this bad. I'm going to hold off from tossing the bud till morning. Another question I have is, this mold was in the middle section of the bud. Is it possible to cut off the ends and still recover this bud? Heck if for nothing else at least I have pics of it and the rest of the buds had nothing on them. THANK GOD.

Na your still cool, ive been there before,as long as the mold is not deep inside the bud & its mainly on the outer bud you can put it in check pretty quick.

Take that shit out of that box its in,the stale non moving air in the box is what allowed them to mold, lay them out on a clean sheet, get a quart sized mist spray bottle & fill it with warm water, then mix in about 6 to 10 spoons full of regular 3% hydrogen peroxide from rite aid & lightly mist all sides of the buds, then put a fan blowing directly on them & turn the fan up as high as it can go,turn the buds over every few hours, you will not taste peroxide when you smoke it up either because the amount is so small.

Let them dry on the sheet for 24 hours then you can put them back in a clean cardboard box or tupperware container with no cover on the container, keep a fan blowing strongly directly on the buds until they are very crispy & fluff the buds around as many times as possible to get fresh air everywhere, when you squeeze the crispy buds & you only feel a very slight amount of moisture in the inner bud, then seal the buds up in a large freezer bag & do not push the air out.

At this point your main insterst/concern is saving the buds, forget about having the buds in darkness & keep them in the light, mold breeds faster in damp dark places over bright windy enviroments.

The sealed bag will draw out any moisture in the inner bud & give an even slightly moist feeling to the entire bud, once that happens lay them out on the sheet again & put the fan back on them until they crisp up again, then reseal in the freezer bag & open the bag a few times a day to let fresh air in,when the buds are 100% dried bag them up air tight & store all excess buds that you are not smoking in the freezer, this does work & i have saved several lbs this way.

Just so you know the most effictive mold killer or preventer is plain ole fresh moving air, mold spores have an extremely hard time surviving in a moving air stream & it will die a quick death.

Next time you dry a harvest never hang or lay buds in a stale non moving air enviroment as non moving air drastically increases the risk of mold.

Needs moisture so add in something like damp rid to suck the moisture out faster and hopefully dry the mold up. I suggest just dumping some in a paper towel and putting both that towel and your green in a mason jar or something like that.

Thanks again. The buds are all now sprayed down, sitting on newspaper with two fans blowing highspeed and 4 cfl's on them about 12 to 18 inchs off the ground. Looks like I'm in for no sleep tonight as I want to keep and eye on them and turn them as instructed. Well time to break out the pipe. I'll keep you updated with pics in the morning.

So far so good. I want to thank everyone who posted. Man I was so worried as like I said, this cola is my prize winnner. :) Here are the pics from this morning and what has taken place over the ngiht.
I washed the bud with luke warm water. I really got down in there for a light scrub. It sucked having to do it but I wanted to make sure. The bud were patted dry on news paper, blown out with the compressor and then hung in the basement. I then proceeded to read the great post on how to fix this. So that is exactly what I have done, step by step. I did not have a 1 qt sprayer, but mine is 1/2 qt I just cut the required mixture in 1/2. I sprayed down the buds, placed them on the newspaper and put the fans and lights on them. Over the night I woke up at 4am and 530am and turned the buds. They now are fully dry and some of the outter small leftover leaves are brittle dry. I am off to get a cardboard box so they can be hung later tonight. Panhead I have read your DIY dryer and I'm going to build one for the 3rd and 4th grows. Here are the pics, all the mold looks gone.. Thanks so much.

Man thats awesome,i know how fuked up it feels when your still on your first few harvests, trying to do everything right, only to miss something so simple at the very end of the grow & shit goes bad,im happy you got it under control.

Just be damm sure in future harvests that you have fresh air moving around the buds 24/7,when i was still hang drying & using the slow cure method i still had fans on my buds at all times, that fukin mold can appear in an hour or two & spread like herpes.

If you do build my design of the bud dryer be sure to take a look for updates as i will be adding a few new updates as soon as the dryers are out of action for a few days, ive got it down now to where i can pull a QP every 2 days out of the dryers & have added extra shelves, they are now 5 shelf units that hold approx a half lb each on all the shelves, this allows for a completely dried quarter pound to be pulled out every 48 hours with zero chance of mold.
