Need Electricians Help

Hey guys I have some wiring issues that I need to run by some one to make sure I have it correct. I am wiring up my basement with just outlets. I didn't want to call out a electrician to tie into the box so I lucked out and found a 12/2 wire that is cut off about 10 feet from where I need to go and it has a 20 amp breaker.

I want to continue that wire to my outlets (splicing in a junction box with 12/2. I have some 3 15 amp outlets laying around that I was going to use.

So have I covered my bases here or missing something thanks

Peace

sounds good just make sure the wire is rated at or above the amperage of the breaker, always make good connections eg the screw on connectors, make sure they are tight and i even tape em over with black tape if there is a lot of wire mess in one box just to be safe.

also make sure of the amperage and amp totals of all the stuff you have running on that circuit.

just remember electric work is not hard but if you make a mistake in your math you can burn your house down :)

hehehe

just make sure nothing touches and if its a component that could possible short out and mess something up since you are wiring it yourself then just put that part in a spot that nothing will burn down.. other then that without calling an electrician (which i don't really recommend for obvious reasons) that is your safest bet.

number 12 is good for 20 amps so if you make your connections up correctly youll b fine..15 amp receptacles will work they just cannot be stabbed in the back or in other words you need to side wire them..connect to screws on the sides
