hey guys. i need some help with bho and wax. i've made them both many times but for some reason i get a really small yield (.6 g per ounce). i dont know what the problem could be. i've read everything i could find and watched every video available. i do everything exactly the same as everyone else but they get an eighth yield per ounce? i use 5x refined butane (mega plus brand.) and i run a 10oz can for every oz of bud or trim. my material is all high quality to start and totally dried. i use a homemade pvc extractor tube. i've used 1/2" and 1 1/2" before and both yield the same. i fill the tube all the way up and lightly tap it, but i dont pack it by any means. i usually use a small pyrex pan inside a bigger pan that has hot water. i also built a wood rack to hold the pvc tube while i spray and it keeps the tube about an inch from the pan. my tube is capped on one end with a hole for a butane adapter and the other end has a coffee filter the a metal screen over that and both are held securely by a hose clamp. i've also used cheese cloth instead of the metal screen a few times. my herb in the tube is all ground up but not too fine.
i've ran trim and bud before and both yield about the same. in total over the past year i've probably ran about a pound and no matter what i do i keep getting .6 grams per ounce.
if anyone could help me figure out my problem i would very very grateful. im sick of wasting so much great material.
