high guys, newbie here have had a couple of grow using synthetics. this time i bought organic stuff gonna give it a shot but have no real idea how to do this correctly. i use coco coir and clay pellets for a medium, i use an ebb and flow system, bottom feed 2 gal. buckets. I also purchased the following nutes : G.O. bIOTHRIVE, ROOT ORGANICS TRINITY,100% BAT GUANO, GREAT WHITE, AZOS, HUMBOLDT COUNTY HONEY. MY QUESTION IS " I'M NOT SURE HOW TO FEED MY GIRLS. I'm still vegging but want to know how to properly use these nutes. I greatly appreciate any help. ( I posted this same question couple of days ago but got no response, but maybe cause I didn't post here
in the organics section.) thanks.

This may not be the answer you're hoping for, but the best way to use those nutrients would be to scrap the hydro system and use big 5-7 gallon pots of rich, organic soil. Those nutrients are going to work best when they are poured into a medium which is alive with bacteria, fungi, ciliates, etc. (all of which are happier living in a complex soil enviroent than one composed of just coco and clay).

I'm not saying you won't be able to use your system and get results... Just recommending that if you want to "go organic", you should cut to the chase and do it up right. :)

Thanks for the advise. I may not like the answer, just because I'm already set in my ways but i can change:sad: The problem that i have had with soil is that one of my buddies grows in soil, but with synthetics and he has been growing for a very long time. The problem is that his stuff always tastes like chronic. Do you think I can use the soil and my nutes and it will not taste like that? Other than that I will most likely have to change to soil.

I'm not sure what you mean by tastes like chronic? The BEST flavor (in my opinion, and that of many others) comes from fully organic growing in soil. Growing in soil with synthetics is kindof counterintuitive, if you ask me.

I tried an organic grow with an ebb and flow system but found that the organics clog up the pump and lines and you have to clean the reservoir more often than if you were using synthetics... I would recommend adding an enzyme concentrate to prevent algae growth in the reservoir and the flood tray

Hi there, i guess what I mean by chronic taste is like a very strong taste and you can taste the soil. now I'm not trying to say that all organics taste that way. Actually that's why i am trying organics, because I want stuff to taste like it should. Now i don't have to go full organic, but if that's the only way i can get that good tasting bud, then i will have to go full, organic. Oh and that's a good idea, about something to keep the algae away in my reservoir, thanks i will get right on that. I am just trying to see if i should change to soil, and i am not sure how to use those organic nutes that i mentioned in my original post. thanks guys for your advise, I really appreciate it.

for organic hydro i find drain to waste to be the best method, i converted my ebb and flow to a drain to waste for under 20 bucks. if your doing an ebb and flow though its a good idea to flush a lot to prevent salt buildup.

Shouldn't be any salts building up with those organic nutrients. I think the taste you are referring to is the taste of your buddy's synthetic nutrients, not the soil. Even if he flushes, soil holds on to synthetic nutrients (it is VERY porous, and soaks stuff up like a sponge).

The herb I've grown organically takes on all kinds of scents and
flavors, but I would describe any of them as tasting like dirt. They have all kinds of fruity, floral, piney, lavender, sweet, spicy, peppery flavors... Mmmmmmm....

Another option if you wanted to grow organically is instead of coco as your growing medium try out Subcool's Super Soil method where all of the organic nutrients are in the soil and all you have to do is give them pH balanced water and some of that Humboldt Honey you have... You could still do flood and drain but you wouldn't have to worry about all the organics clogging up the pump and lines

Spicy Sativa, yeah see those are the flavors I'm looking for. and thanks for the advise i will look up the super soil method on this site. in the mean time can some one let me know how these nutes should be used ? I like the ebb n flow to drain idea as well. Thanks guys keep it coming. I love learning about growing i'm telling you in the couple of years that i have been doing it it took over my lifebongsmilie
