i have been through all 63 pages in this thread and found little info on led indoor growing for veggies.

i will be growing 1 or 2 bag seeds of mj (first grow) and wanted to also grow cherry tomatoes, sweet pepper, chillies, and cilantro, as i read it will all grow well together in the same enviorment.. will be following the light schedule as growing mj

i have a pro-grow 180w led (using for both veg/flowering) and a pro-grow 50w plasma...will this be sufficient enough to grow my veggies and mj in a 5x4x8 room? or is it too much light for the veggies to handle?
medium : foxfarm light warrior mixed with perlite
nutrients: FF trio Big Bloom, Grow Big & Tiger Bloom (or jacks dynamic duo)

please help a first time grower!! any advice/experience/tips is appreciated!!!

not too sure on led lights, but check on ur lights to see what kinda lumens it puts out cause like 400w MH puts out like 36,000 lumens I know led is alot less, led grow lights can be the most expensive lights out there, T5 lights could be another way to go instead of led. Unless ur set on led or already bought em.

Hmmm actually after looking at LED lights more I might have to retract my previous statment, I never researched much into LED lights cause of the damn price, but from what I read u would probably get some nice growth with those lights. Even though T5 r still cheaper, and as far as nutes I use the FF trio as well but there are some many diff ferts to play with, I heard some ppl talk about using a product called gravity towards the end of ur flower grow so u end up with really dense nugs. My personal opinion regarding growing is soil and as much natural/organic stuff as possible, for some reason I can pretty much always tell when my smoke from the pharmacy is soil or hydro grown(or I think I can at least). And I always prefere the taste of herb grown in soil.

lol thanks for the input. yeah they are a little on the expensive side..but im really stuck on them ha. i was going to order from https://hydroponicshut.com/ today but i want to give them a call tomorrow to ask some questions before i go ahead and order them. ive been reading since mid December (2011) about led grows, whats needed, and also to save money so i dont short cut anything. if i do something i like to do it right (or at least try) rather then half ass it.
was the name brand gravity? i really cant tell the diff between soil or hydro grown, but hopefully after my first grow ill be able to taste a difference!

They are expensive indeed. I ordered mine directly from China, still waiting on it. Only been 5 business days so far though.

Have you ever grown tomatoes? I'm sure you'll have to keep them pruned back a lot.

Never grown anything in my life man! lol this will be a first time for me. as for the tomatoes, i plan on going with a small type of tomato breed so it doesnt get all big on me and take up most of the light from my mj plant. ive been reading alot...ALOT ha it helps but its nothing like hands on experience

if u wanna grow some good tomatoes look around for some heirloom variety they are good maybe marble or purple cherokee or brandywine(and many more) its not a very small tomato but its damn good there are also some heirloom cherry tomato varieties too but lil harder to find depending on where u live.

Oh and I saw this one guy's video on youtube where he talked about super cropping his tomatoes, which would help u to control their size in ur garden.

Determinate tomatoes will only grow to a certain size but don't taste as good. Just prune them and should be ok.

Remember leds have a fairly small light footprint

thanks for the info fellas! as i start the grow if i notice the tomatoes getting out of control i will start to prune them. if not i may take them outside, but i rather not though do to i live next to an wooded (more like jungle) lot and seen all types of animals get over my fence already -_-

my own experience with veggies indoors is limited. since i can not, nor will i try to compete with the sun, my veggies go outside. and i nurture them. they produce well. i think if you try to keep your yield low by pruning and trade off for better fruit is an option??? what do you thinkk? i have 340W LED's and they compete well with 600W HID's. I dont have gpw data but i'm not here to prove anything. so i guess what i'm saying is, if it turns you on to grow in LED's then go for it and don't forget to put a little lime in the soil. everyone seems to keep forgetting that....
