HI, I have been growing in soil and I want to go to the sea of green. I don't know anything about aeroponics but I do have most of everything from my grow room like lighting, CO 2 system etc.
I have been looking at this system:
http://www.thehydrosource.com/Hydroponic_Systems/General_Hydroponics/General_Hydroponics_AeroFlo_20_Aeroponic_System
Can someone Please tell me if this will work for the sea of Green? I see where the net pots are only 3" & I can supposedly only go 30" tall but thats about right for sea or so I have read.
I can really use your advice and Greatly appreciate any input you can offer. The system is like 300.00 or there about and that about max's me out on money but if it will work I will buy it.
Thank all of you
Blessings

That is an NFT rig. Good for veggies with small root balls, but not for mj. Start with a simple F & D table using lava rock around your net pots, fill in around your starter cubes with hydroton

The Superbox is simple and efficient. Comes with Techno floral nutrients. I have four plants, but next time only 2-3 as it is small and becomes crowded.

OK I appreciate it, Dirt is OK for some but I want out of it and something more challenging (I also want to put down some kick ass buds) I have never had more fun than Growing, the options are limitless and I have met some of the coolest People on this Planet Right Here :~)

it does look sweet, I would need to come up with more cash but like you there is always the near future :~) I got some Big Bud Auto from Amaterdam as well as Mazar seeds, Both do well for a sea of green. My concerns with most of the Air Flows is the root ball near maturity. It just doesnt seem like there is enough room in the channel provided. Man I could be wrong as hell I just know what my root balls looked like and even at 4 ft they were pretty big. The hard thing is looking at a pic you dont get the depth you need to make a proper assessment. God! I Love this :~) I have nevr had to much fun and been around such Dynamite People!

if you do no veg time than your plants will never get close to 4 ft they will probably be around 2-2 1/2 ft and also im doing ebb n flow right now with 4'' squared rockwool cubes and that seems like enough space for the roots with no veg time by the way things are going for me. by my math in the aeroflo 36 each plant has an 8'' cube of airspace for the roots which seems like plenty to me. am i wrong cause i havent seen the inside of the chamber i figured it was just a big open space?

Kind of off topic. I was looking at using 12' pvc and set it up outdoors in the ground. put the rez down about 4' deep. still don't know if I could keep the root zone cool enough.

https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/498833-bubbleponics-made-easy-diy-bubble.html... not quite aero, but an easy way to try bubble/hydro with one or two plants next to your soil to compare results

Wow! An 8 gallon res? Seriously? Come on GH, what are you thinking. I guess you would have to fill the res twice a day near harvest. Your nute levels change like crazy when you use up 50-75 percent of the water in the res every day. I just left for a 9 day xmas vacation with 24 plants that are 3 1/2 feet tall and 4 weeks into flower in a HPA aero table. I spent a almost a grand for it though, I guess that wouldn't work for you. I was sweating bullets when I left. I use a 27 gallon res for daily use. I end up putting water in it all the time. Every other day usually. For this trip I hooked up a second one. I was running 50 gallons with 10% of the manufacturers max nute recipe. When the res started to drop while I was away the nute levels only went up to about 50% of the recipe on the bottle.
If you LOVE daily maintenence work on your garden get that GH system. You could probably modify it to use a bigger res. Maybe buy another res that fits it? That tiny res is going to be a problem though. But hey, to each his own. Maybe you like to work harder than I do. Probably, I hate working.

damn lol, not the best, but it definately works and could be the best option for small grows and an easy way to start hydro or to compare next to soil. I cant stand battling fungus gnats and other critters that are in soil... since starting soilless years ago, then recently starting up my new grow again a few months ago, Ive never seen a single solitary creepy crawly winged thing in my entire grow room yet.
