Nice plant in a 5. You would make life easer in a bigger pot but I wouldn't know how to transplant something that big. :bigjoint:

Nice work for such a small pot.

If your soil drains well I would flood her with lots of water whenever she looks like she needs it. If the extra water can drain out you should be fine. 2-3 gallons should be enough to saturate her soil I would think. I like to give a little bit of water, wait a bit (30-60 minutes), and water again. It seems to help it soak in more.

A bigger pot would be a good idea, but transplanting her would be a pain. Might take a couple people. Maybe think about cutting off the bottom off that pot and putting it into a hole in the ground. It would keep her roots cooler, keep the soil moist longer, and give her some room to spread out her roots.

I agree.. planter is too small for an outdoor plant- she has MONTHS to go and may get rootbound and die before she can finish flowering!

You are going to want to get a 15 gallon planter or put her in the ground...
easiest way is to NOT try to take her out of the planter- but CAREFULLY cut the planter in half after removing the bottom... a good dremel or heavy box-cutter will work- but you must not cut too many roots!

You will have to really water & feed her well until then-- she' will have an incxreased need for water if her roots have already filled the space!

Good Luck! She's very nice indeed! ;)
