Hang up yellow sticky traps meant for fungus gnats to kill any adults flying around. Take some h2o2 and mix with water at 30% h2o2 use 2ml/liter, 35% 1.7ml/liter, 50% 1ml/liter. Pour that over your medium and drench it. Cover it best you can and let them die.

Keeps organics out of your room and so will the fungus gnats.

I've never had a fungus gnat problem in hydro though, but people use that dosage of h2o2 to kill other things. So i'd imagine it'd work.

I don't know if these are the same kinda nats I had, but where I live there are a bunch of chicken houses. With that come nats in my house. You could not leave a dish out a night, and If you didn't pour bleach down the sink at night you would wake up to 50 nats in the kitchen sink. I tried everything and these things kick ass! No more nats. Hang one in your room and they will go away.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019BK8AG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Dont use hot shots. Shits poison and cannot be used in flower. I wouldn't even stand in the same room as it.

Just eradicate your issue which should be easy with a few of those yellow sticky card traps(non toxic) and the h2o2 treatment I explained. Keep organics out of your room and you will be golden. They can only survive on A. Eating your roots, or B. eating organics in your soil until it can get to your roots.

FUngus gnats were brought in by your soil I guarantee it. Was it Fox Farms Ocean Forest? I used that my first soil grow and had so many fungus gnats(they were literally flying out of the bag), this is when I made the switch to hydro and never had an issue with bugs again.

Check your roots for aphids. Last time I had gnats, I had a infestation of root aphids. SNS slowed them but I never effectively got rid of them all. I did try large doses of H2O2, it didn't phase them. It took a hard toll on my yield to say the least. I

H202 has NO effect on Gnats or any living thing. It only attacks other Molecules, let’sthink for a second, H202 is waterwith an extar O (OXYGEN)… when the extra O breaks off, it willnot attack another living thing that uses O2.H202 has a lot of great uses and if you have Gnats I woulduse it to help the roots recover from damage, but it won’t get rid of yourgnats , if it kills any , it will only be a few.

Agh, I hate those things! We're they like... Little worm-like larvae, and the adults are tiny, round, shiny black beetle-looking insects? I'd find the adults clinging onto the roots right at the top of the net pot, and they'd crawl up the stalk and fly around annoyingly. I tried soaking the res in bleach, in H2O2...and they survived! I removed the plant, and put it in an empty bucket, to let its roots dry out a little, hopefully killing some larvae. I soaked the res with room temperature water and regular old dish detergent for 30 mins, rinsed, scrubbed, filled it up again with the water and soap, super bubbly, and let the plants roots soak in it for another 30 mins. Rinse well, clean air stone with H2O2 soak, wipe down tubing with alcohol. Set up DWC bucket again, with just plain water... It seemed to really help. I have also tried the mosquito dunks on a plant I was gonna trash and not smoke anyway with great success... I wonder if it would have been ok to smoke tho?
