I am NOT a racist and have many black friends. Sorry if I come off wrong or anything im not tryin to offend anyone. I am just very high and thinking. Why do black people call eachother the "N" word but get offended when white people do. And im not tryin to offend anyone just very curious. And no negative vibes please.

yeah, they are racist. but they get offended because that was a universal tag back in slavery days...

back when i played college ball, i had some black friends that didnt mind me calling them the "n'' word...

what i did notice was i once called a black guy i didnt know the ''n'' word while drinking and he didnt say anything...

then when he was with all his homies, he decided to be all gansta, lol, that shit was funny...

They use it amongst themselves as an act of solidarity, a term of endearment, and as recognition of each others struggle. From anyone else it's offensive, because we don't share their experience so the term becomes derogatory...

I've had the same instances - Never used the N word but once I called a good buddy of mine 'boy' and after a short yelling match, I realized that is just as offensive.

On the flip side, the same guy consistently calls me white devil, honky, red neck, etc etc - I hate to say it but I find it funny to be called white devil. Anyhoo

yea just a few generations ago black people where considered animals and traded and sold like horses. i would be offended too. it is getting better but it really hasnt been that long.

random but this made me think of daniel tosh stand up, he is talking about steroids in baseball and putting astericks near barry bonds record. "put an asterick besides that when they put one next to babe ruths name. You get to play before blacks/hispanics are allowed to and theres no mention of that in history. made me lol, but it is so true.

the ones who get offended obviously see themselves in the negative aspect of the word. When i hear whites call themselves nigga i dont get offended i just laugh cause it doesnt sound right but i understand the use of it. It only hurts when your put the "er" on it cause then its a slavery reference not a greeting. I just call people "Ninjas" messes with peoples ears when they hear it 8)

so blacks were the only ones that were slaves eh? thats a bullshit excuse in my book. so thats what they happened to call blacks in the slavery days which its a spanish word for black(dunno if i got the right country, but it means black in one of em) they take that shit way too far and me personally i dont hesistate to say that shit anywhere in front of anyone...well aside if im near the projects when they have flocks of black dudes and the majority of them prolly have guns. if you can call me a cracka and a honkey i can call you a nigga straight up. all my black friend have no issues with me sayin it and thats how it should be.

lol oly thats funny dude thats how most act tho when they're by themselves they wont say shit until all their friends are around then they get all tough. thats with every race tho
