I believe you simply add their individual values, if you know them.

I think this is incorrect. The values listed are the % of the product of the total. To get a correct analysis you would add the various amendment values and then average the result. In the above example the combination of equal volumes of the two amendments would be 2.5, .52, and 2.2, divided by 2 ( the number of ingredients), or the npk value of the apple/alfalfa combination would be 1.25 - .26 - 1.1

Also as a side note different plants will actually exhibit different amounts of n-p-k from crop to crop, so this is just a guideline. You would probably would want to use this in making FPE's, or composting (vermi or otherwise) as adding these raw ingredients to your garden will take a while to break down and actually lower your available nutrients in the process --- somewhere out there there is a better chart that includes the micronutrients, which become equally important to understand so you do not create toxic situations for your plants and create a fertilizer that truly fits your needs.

believe it or not just by filling a 5 gallon pail of warm water adding daily greens to it like potato peals , orange peals egg shells etc stirring it up within one week your ppm level can reach 2000 so you need to be careful a ppm meter is a must when making your own liquid food cause your going to need to water it back

plant extracts in general are very strong and should be used with care, it is easy to over fertilize ;) Good info and good call.

If you look at the typical dilution rates for FPE, you will see that a little well made FPE can go a very long way

i agree this is a good guideline chart but you need to figure out the pros and cons and tweek the phs and what not for indoor!!
i make my own liquid seaweed extract i let it set for a year now ive been useing it all grow and it was all i used besides was organic soil mixed with naturel brown dirt outdoors to keep a healthy microbe environment and i mix the liquid seaweed 5 parts water to 1 part seaweed smells bad but works great!!
i dont recomend using inside unless in smaller ammounts and only water soil not spray feed!!
