i just found this link in an old post by Uncle Ben, and it is awesome. i'll admit it broke a couple of my pet myths, but it also reinforces a lot of what i've always thought about "bro science" facts.

This article started me on my path to grow without falling into the common misconceptions found all over the forums.

Even now 6 years later with all the legal weed everywhere the greed and lack of education in our field has most still on the myth path.

Great post OP.
Thought I would chime in, on the topping of small trees.
There's a huge problem here in Australia, with Conifers being planted in the wrong places. Under power lines etc.
Council, arborists and owners, come and chop the top out. Little do they know, it's the worst thing you can do to a Conifer.
They never recover. And if they do they don't grow any taller. Just wider. Whole branches go brown and die off. Fungus sets in etc.
Some people do the same with Wattles, Banksias etc. That can be very counter productive too.

Thanks for the link. It's a lot of good reading.
