My worst nightmare came true last night.

I am on day 40 of my flowering cycle. The plants are suppose to take 63-70 days to mature. I had 1 power loss because of storms in the first few weeks of flower. Then a second power loss last week. I did the best I could to maintain the 12/12 cycle but there was 1 day of darkness each time. I went out to water last night and I saw that my plants now have a few nannners. I plucked everyone I could find with tweezers. So since I don't have any experience with hermi's. I wanted to ask if it's possible to still mature the crop if I pluck the nanners as I see them? So far none of the nanners are mature. It's a sad situation because these plants were packing it on. :wall: Besides that I have a good bit invested in this crop (power/nutes).

Yes it's possible but keep a very close eye and don't let any nanners open:bigjoint: check often as possible, but at least once or twice a day

damn that sucks pretty bad bud but thats gunna be a major pain in the ass pulling those every day multiple times a day so i guess it really comes down to how bad you want to keep them, you can try that but i bet you wont get all of them and your gunna risk seeding the whole crop with hermie seeds. so in short... i would pull them but i guess if you just take good care of them and pull all the little sacks till there older then you should be able to get some decent personal smoke, maybe get a lil hash and some feminized seeds but if you want some straight sensimilla herb u gotta pull those hermies or start over. are they good enough now to pull and dry? in all honesty i would try to keep pulling those and lettum ride if those arethe only plants you have. what strain are they?

The strain is Kandy Kush. I think if I could somehow flower them for 2 - 3 more weeks I will get a good yield. Have any of you guys ever had this situation happen to you? And if so what was the outcome?

nope cant say i have my friend but if I was using that strain seed or clone i would stop because that tendancy to hermie up hella quick like that is a genetic thing so its going to keep happening.

Been trying to finish a plant, flushing it for the last week, came up with nanners I have been inspecting it very closely pulling off any and all with tweezers. It is coming down very soon only because I dont want seedy bud. I dont have other plants it can pollinate so no worry there. Just keep pulling off them nanners and consider flushing it and cutting her down when you think its ready.

I've had experience with it and if you keep a very close eye and keep up with it, it can be done!

Thanks man. That makes me feel a lot better. When I saw that shit last night it made me feel like crawling into a hole. Very depressing to say the least. These girls are 3 1/2 to 4 foot tall and looking good, until last night.

no problem, i felt the same way when it happen to me! I ended up finding out a bottle of my nutes i bought online was expired so was pretty sure that was the cause, but i ended up with no seeds, just kept checking and picking nanners if i found them, gotta check really good, buds n' all..

good luck man. Where about are you in norcal? i;m in the bayare! anywhoo. i understand the power outage issue. i had mine last week. but i was in veg. But once i saw the power failing. i was able to move my plants outside where it still got some type of light.
I think you will be alright if you keep monitoring them.

ya know, I hear people freakin out about nanners and hermies all the time. I dont get it really. I was running some bc seedking purps for a cpl yrs, they always had nanners. the worst thing that happens was id get a few seeds on those plants, and i believe any seeds i may have found on other strains in the same room, probly could be attributed to the purps as well.

but im not talkn boatloads of seeds. maybe 20 or less on a plant, usually under 10 seeds. I inspect closely as i trim the nuggs, and turn in the jars. usually knocking any seeds off. but i will warn a patient, they might find a cpl. nobody ever seems to care. but then again, potsnobs will be potsnobs.

North of Sac. The power outage I had last week was at 4am. I run mine at night. I woke up to the sound of my microwave beeping cause it reset. I knew exactly what it was when I heard the beeping.:wall: It went out earlier in the day to but they were in dark so it was no issue. Anyway, it sucks. Kinda out of my control. I am gonna have a couple buddys come over and tag team these bitches...bongsmilie

Well really getting a hermie isn't the end of the world. I mean seeds suck, but a hermie plant won't make as many seeds as a male plant...not even close. So I wouldn't worry too much. It's alright for real.

if they are not all from the same clone.

now would be a good time to see if any plants didnt herm. (hermi resistant)
and i would keep that strain.

Sorry to hear about the nanners man, just be vigilant about checking/plucking and you should be fine, as long as it's only a few seeds its just extra weight, lol,(JK! I'm not like that) By the way, I'm in Sac (hate this F-ING place:cuss::spew:, can't wait to get out of here but I digress), if you ever come down here & your interested drop me a PM ahead of time and we can burn one, I take my dog to the park almost every day so we could meet there. I got some pretty killer bud from a friend who grew so many strains he forgot which one it was, LOL, obviously he didn't label them or something, oh well, its green, stinky, sticky & stoney so that's what counts. Anyway, good luck with the herms and keep us posted.
