My wife and I

I am a legal marijuana smoker in the state of California. I stopped for a while after having been on Kepra which is a pill medicine that altered my anger management. At the time I was also smoking so she relates a lot of anger issues to marijuana. Can anyone help us out with research proving or disproving its effects leading to anger?

Since stopping Kepra, I am a different person. Much more relaxed and I have had an experience of what its like to let anger take over.

This is political, good place for it IMO. I have a wife too, (thank god), and she has to deal with the same shit, I am a BIG fan of marijuana. I am always buying heavy sacks, chiefing the pipe, etc. I got creative and installed some fans into my window so I could blow the smoke out. But my wife just hates smoking period. Try making edibles and that is about as good as you can do to avoid her detection. I don't know many days where I haven't consumed marijuana at all in a 24 hour period. Nice avatar man

Marijuana does not cause anger however the lack of it can especially if you are using it to relax or relieve stress. Two things you can do to combat anger: Therapy, and learning better coping strategies.

No drug on the market will prevent anger, I don't care what they say. The mind is a powerful thing and it takes just that to be able to combat the emotions that come with it. Taking any mood altering substance has the potential of only intensifying the emotions; whether it be while you are high, or later when you come down. You can't simply drug yourself until all of your problems have disappeared, because they won't.

Why do people put up with someone dictating their lives like they're a little child?

Tell her you have anger issues due to her control issues.

I agree, no drug should sub anger. And yes, I have been able to cope with anger, mainly it was due to my inflated ego. Maturity has come with time. I was always egotistical, before smoking, and smoking relaxed me, yet I had to always deal with anger, until now, which I amble to. The Kepra made everything worse, and without it, smoking would relax me, and with new a new maturity to cope with anger it will not effect me as it has before. I had to have changed myself before using anything. And I have.

I love her very much, I am just trying to help her cope with any fears of the past that she is relating to marijuana which are not true.

marijuana does have correlations to episodes of psychosis, severe anger is a form of psychosis.

my father suffers from anger tantrums. his coping strategy is biting his forearm... when he's really pissed he bites it so hard it calms him down quick... lol

You don't have anger issues, you have frustration issues, it arises from the perceived resistance to the fulfillment of individualhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_%28philosophy%29 will. The greater the obstruction, and the greater the will, the more the frustration is likely to be. Anger is a feedback mechanism to ill treatment.
I have to agree with no issue ... It is the frustration aspect rather than with straight anger ... At least for me. I was on a lot of various pain killers during my 6 year struggle, including one that I was a guinea pig for. Once I got rid of the opiates and just smoke weed now, my demeanor is a lot better. I am still frustrated with why I am not getting better healthwise, but at least my mind set is a lot better with weed on board, and can be cordial with others where I could not be before.

I too would not want to sneek around and do things behind my spouses back. I just asked her straight up ... Would you want me back on the opiates or do you want me the way I am now. ... The answer was quite obvious ...

Hope this helps the discussion :-)
