Tent: 2'x7''-2'x7''x5'11''.
Exhaust: bathroom exhaust fan (approx. 80 cfm). Homemade activated charcoal filter.
Lights: Veg.(16-8) 12- 32w cfl, Flower(12-12) 6-42w cfl.
Soil: MG organic.
Air: circulated with 2 fans and will attempt to keep temps just under 80f.
Seeds: 4 master kush, 2 white widow, 1 crystal, all feminised.
Nutes: TBD
I plan on moving my seedlings in their jiffy cubes to red 16oz solo cups approx 3-6 days after the seeds sprout. approx. 2-3 weeks afterwards I will transplant to 9", 1.5qt pots for the duration. I will flower when I believe sex can be determined.

I actually started germination 3 days ago Sunday June 12th late afternoon.
Well I started this journey with what I could afford and had access to, so this is what I could put together, I would love any comments or suggestions.

its good you not going directly into the mg
i believe femz are already pre determined girls so just dont stress them out so they dont hermi
ide leave a couple blue in there as well in flowering so id use the 6 42s on the sides incasing the plants and four blues ontop for them to grow up to try to capture full spectrum

Thanks for the lighting tip Easterb, I will do that.

Sadly this is what I found today.

Even though the 2 white widow, and the crystal don't look to good I moved them into solo cups along with the 4 Master kush. I will post pics after my camera updates. I cant seem to get the heat below about 82, I will have to work on that.

Well I peeked in on my ladies this morning and the weak ones seem to be recovering. I am hoping for the best and will try to post picks tonight.

As you can see in a previous pic, the exhaust fan is mounted to the top of the tent. would it be of any relevance if the exhaust moved up and down with the lights?View attachment 1653393

At the moment i have no $$$$ for something like one of them nice cooltube setups but would love to hear some possible ways to help keep the tent cool. The temps seem to keep in the low 80's but i would prefer mid to high 70's. There is a window a/c unit in the room ( I believe the outside walls are not insulated making the a/c unit work like a horse) to help keep things cool but i am almost afraid to see the electric bill come in.

Well the seedlings received 1/2 a cup of distilled water this morning. The hygrometer read low until about about 3/4 into the cup and i was worried that maybe the roots are not that deep so, i hope that was ok.

I have my lights about 5-6 inches from the top of the seedlings until they go into veg and then the lights will be kept as close as possible, maybe another 2 or 3 days? well here are some pics of my 6 day old seedlings, any thoughts?

Watered the girls today, the last time i watered was 4 days ago. Today 3/4 cup was given Except for MKVI, almost 11/2 cups. I wanted to be sure there was drainage because there was no drainage w/ 3/4 cups. But do I need to water until drainage?

The girls are growing, not much but they are. I am considering a method I read about called topping and
applying that to a couple of the girls.

It will cause a bit of trapped heat, but I would add reflectors to the bulbs. A good reflector can double the light output. I keep my cfl or flouros 1 inch away from the flowering plant, or damn close. I would keep those plants 1 foot tall at most in flower, as your light will not go further. I use large clamp reflectors with y adaptor and 2 26 watt bulbs in it. Your larger bulbs would need an extender in addition to the y splitter to fit in the clamp.

You can hang those cfl's vertical in between plants or around them in flower. Another option.

Yea, I would not let them go further than say 8 inches tall before you flip em. You can see pre flowers after 5 weeks or so. If you top them, you will not see the pre flowers till later.

You can also just tie em over to side of pot to control the height. Look up super cropping as it is a easy way to control height and get the nodes to pack together. Pinch the stem at near top of plant till it gives and then lay it over a 90 degree or level to ground.

I water till I feel the pot is heavy enough, unless you are using chemical nutes, there is no need for run off. I add earth worm castings to Foxfarm ocean forest soil with added perlite in veg, and Rainbow Mix bloom fert in flower. Top dressed or mixed into soil when I up pot. I veg all the way thru in 18 oz. party cups and then up pot to 1 gal with fresh ffof, perlite, and 2 Tbsp Rainbow mix per gal of soil. Bone meal works fine for flower too.

OK Yesum, Think i am gonna try it. I will Flower when the girls are approx. 8 inches. Gonna use MG nutes this time around ( gonna have to see whats available.) At the moment I am comfortable using MG as FF is not available in my town and I would like to keep internet purchase to a minimum.
