to be perfectly honest i dont ph ........ but im on really good well water
If I added a bit of soil the need to ph would go down or away right. Or is ph something everyone should be doing soil or hydro just more with hydro.

As far as cost it look like what ever I do I will end up spending around $40 for my dirt....

a bale of turbo peat is like 10 bucks roughly at lowes if you mixed 2 bags of organic soil and a bag or 2 of perlite you should have enough to fill 8-10 5 gal buckets at least .....add some lime and basically its soil and you should be able to use it a few times if you rework lime and some amendments into it ........after a grow or two it should look like soil out of a bag .... just from what ive noticed ...... i decided to add coco to my mix for the simple fact it seems to break down slower so i dont have to fight compaction as often

Yea as you can tell I'm worried about crossing over and f up. I mean not I did that great this time with soil. I just thought the fox farm would have been good right out the bag. I use to grow with mg and I didn't have half the bugs I have now. I was thinking about finding a good soil and cutting with perlite. But I'm still stuck....don't get me wrong I'm listening to everyone suggestions but I know myself. I can't use something I have to keep adding and adjusting. Soil has that " buffer" for not so hands on growers like myself. Now I look at my plants 10x a day but I still wouldn't say I know what I'm doing.

So with 4-5 weeks to go I think I'm stuck on going 50/50 soil and perlite.... Now I have time to keep learner and doing research cuz I really want to try something new but just not sure yet....

thats kinda nifty ....... im gonna look and see if they sell it at my local lowes ....... only thing that would freak me out is the part were its already fertilized

if youre going with pure coco the you want to stay about the same needed for hydro 5.5- 6.0 ph ( or what ever im no dro expert )with your water / nutes ...... if its a blend of coco and something else then you can add dolomite and use it just like soil which would be a more neutral PH just above 6.0 or just below 7.0 ph ....... the lime helps with inconsistent water ph

Yeah I'm not seeing this stuff local. I think I will order it and add 50% perlite and lime....they say the ph is around 6.5....

Today I did a flush to hopefully give the hoes some air. Crazy, I was able to see my soil make fart bubble in the water. I really wish I added perlite. But next time I knowimage.jpg

the two in the blue look like some of the fuel phenos.. the one in the black bucket looks like it might be one of the fruity phenos... I've found a cpl fuel smells and a cpl fruity smells... I've only had one out of everything I've planted came up w/a skunky smell... so far the most I've had was 7 different phenos going at once

can't say that I've taken notice of that yet... there really are so many phenos (even if they're just slight variations) you could keep yourself busy for a long time. I've really just focused on breeding the biggest plants...the last run was two big males and I think four females and a cpl nice plants that had their preflowers seeded (they all had different smells and structure) and all those seeds got mixed together.. I didn't try to separate the fruity ones from the fuel ones or anything like that...they were all super frosty so I just went for size
also I haven't grown any from this last run... but I've given out over 500 seeds... so i'm excited to see what ppl pull out of them and which ones the choose to highlight... I probably won't be able to try then till Dec.
I hope there are lots of high happy ppl by then

Believe it or not but the smallest one has the most weight so far. My cam sucks so it hard to pick up but it's chunky....I think I can pull over an zip on that one...at least my hopes are up....hey boston what do you pull off these....

Oh and I think I'm going to have a hermie with the small one. I seen an empty pollen sac laying on my top of my soil. At least that's what it looks like. But I've checked all ove and haven't seen any sacs.....

honestly I don't even weigh it.. most of the time I don't even separate the phenos when I cure it.. everything gets mixed... the jars end up smelling like an old PB&J sandwich... plus I make infused oil so when I trim it for the jars I try to only put in flowers... everything in my jars can be put in a grinder and rolled or smoked w/out separating anything out.. so if I had a weight it wouldn't really be accurate since most ppl cure whole buds..
i'm really the worst at documentation since everything I grow is for myself or given away... I don't keep track of how long my plants takes to finish...
but there are a ton of seeds out there so there should be lots of info coming in..
