Hi all

I am thinking about puting my 250w (2700k) envirolite to some use soon and want to grow 2 plant's.

They will be grown in a built in cabinet on my wall.

I have seen many cfl grow's with just a basic desktop fan and i am going to be using a 12" desk fan and an air purafier with a built in carbon filter.

I do not worry about smell that much as i live in the middle of nowere.

I will also have a constant flow of fresh air as i have 1 of my windows open 24/7.

What do you all think as this is my only solution for ventalation.

I have thought about intake and outtake fan's but the ducting ect is too much for my grow cabinet.

Thank's

Buy yourself a little cheap fan with a clamp on it, and put it up in the corner of your box. This will move air around nicely. You can get those just about everywhere. Also buy a couple PC case fans, cut some holes, and use for intake and outtake. You can buy PC fans for like $1.99 a piece on newegg.com. Then just find some old cell phone chargers or some kind 12V power supply, wire it up to your fans, and you're good to go.

lol.. I need to read better before replying. Didn't realize it's built into the wall. Looks like you have the fan part covered. Maybe just the PC fans in and out on the front doors of the cabinet, unless light leaks are an issue for you. With your fan and purifier in there, maybe just a couple holes for passive intake would work for you. I also like using bathroom outtake fans, and you can duct them wherever you want.

You're grow box will take flight if you wire it directly to a 240v socket lol. Yeah, don't do that it's not safe. You have to use a power converter of some sort. This is basically any plug with a power pack on it. Something simple like you would use for a cell phone for example. If you don't have any of these around from obsolete electronics or etc.. You can usually find them online or somewhere like Radio Shack for pretty cheap. Just read the output specifications on the converter. Ideally you want something that puts out 12V and at least an amp or so. The less voltage the slower your fans will run.

christmas lights only use fuses to regulate power, plus the power drops the length of the cord. what he means is look for something that plugs into a en electronic device that is not a straight plug. chargers are the easiest, but most are not 12v most are anywhere from 6-9v. if you want to buy it its a simple wall converter, like a 120v converter you plug into your car lighter, just backwards. im running 4 26w cfls and a 68w on dwc with eight plants, just keep em close. heat is not your problem and airflow doesnt seem to be, but i would keep that window closed!!! your asking for pest. i live upstairs and sometimes open it for my cat and a few days ago i found an assassin bug waiting to kill the whole thing, well i killed it with a knife and my thumb, but still, its spring, insects are coming to life. i hate pest sprays. also you have less chance of bugs with hydro. im using a 16 inch fan i took off its stand and hung on my light rack. i like the plants to sway just a bit to strengthen them. i also have a space heater that i just set to fan to push air into the closet.

Yeah I'm battling lady bugs right now! It could be a lot worse though, they are actually good to some degree because they kill other pests, but I'm getting swarms of them! I don't know that I've ever heard of 230v pc fans. If they truly are 230v, I suppose they could be wired directly to your wall, but just be careful and make sure to read specs closely. Here's a good link I just found on wiring these.. best of luck! https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/4105-computer-fan-wiring.html
