My rubbermaid carbon filtered grow box

Hello everyone at riu!!!!!! Well if any of you have been following along on past grows knows that I just recentely lost my house (long story) and had to move and cut down 6 plants. We didn't have a house for about 3 days and was living out of our cars till one of my mothers rental houses came open. She specifally told me no growing or no weed. But she is over 60 and doesn't ever go in the attic. I have been playing with the idea of using my 400w HPS over but all in all its too risky for me getting caught and what not. So I got to thinking about how I could go about doing this. Growmann showed me some plans of the 400w rubbermaid grow he was doing and I figured it would be too much trouble for me having to take my HEAVY hood down every time. Its a 6" air cooled hood and I don't like to run it with out the fan on it. The fan was out of the question in that small box. Then I got to thinking that I should just use cfls for the time being and make a smaller setup that I could veg up to a week and a half in. I have to have a carbon filter so rigged up these boxes to make it work.

As for strains, before I had to move I ordered 5 fem Arjans Haze #1, got 1 fem G13 labs Gigabud, and 5 free reg thai x super skunk. I also had one fem Great White Shark seed left over from the previous run. Yay!!! I'll finally be able to get some GWS since I had to cut down 4 of them a couple weeks ago. As you can see I can only fit two at a time, so I am going to be doing one Haze and one Great White Shark. The soil will be roots organics, nutes will be Blue Mountain Organics, Grow it Green: 5-2-5, Flower power: 1-8-7, Super plant tonic: no NPK value, and Foliar Harmony: 2-4-2. These liquid organics are AWESOME they have some of highest liquid NPK values in liquid organics I could find, plus they are cheap and have GREAT service and Shipping.

As for the size lights I'm using, I'll have two big 85w's one red one blue and then all the rest red spec smaller bulbs. Ummm stick around I don't have much to finish on my lil spaceship just gotta paint the inside white pick up the rest of my bulbs and germ the seeds. Here are the pics of my set up, hope you like.

bro i once had to live in my aunts rental,
she said no weed but i didnt listen, grew two 7 foot 100% sativas and got caught halfway through flowering lol,



reffering to the hassle of taking out you heavy ass hood everytime you access, well you dont, the top box holds the hood and all you have to do is take that box off, simple as that

I'm doing a cab in my attic. 700 w cfl/hps combo. Where I live temps have been crazy. Warm one day freezing the next. Took me forever to get things right. Plus more cash than expected. Humidifiers, Duct fans out the roof, space heaters on thermostats. I'll have to grow outside when spring comes, the heat off the roof will be to much of a pain in the ass for me to control. Good thing I'll be harvesting in a couple weeks. Good luck with the grow. I'm interested to see how it goes.

bro i no exactly what you mean,
at first i was all psyched up cause i was like haha this is a badass spot,
i went up there one day and almost fucken passed out doing work,
i live in florida and the sun roasts that roof,

I know all that but I really wanted to cool the light and use the filter. The boxes to fit that kind of set up were 12.50 a peice and I still would have to buy alot of stuff to rig it up. I'll just set it aside for a couple months and if I feel I can do it then I will.

ya man I live in florida too. And ya it gets freaking hot. I've grown up in florida so I know what kind of weather your talking about Thats also another reason why I'm not using the hps it gets way to hot and I don't feel like fighting heat halfway into budding. I'm pretty sure with those two big fans I'll be able to stablize heat even during the summer. The growbright inline fan is 170 CFM, and the stanley fan on the box said over 500 CFMs. The stanley fan has three settings on it and I'm only gonna put it on setting one. Even then its still a powerful breeze. And what that box has to be no bigger than 15 CFM lol. I even thought about putting up two tower oscilating fans up on the oustside of the box blowing on the it to kinda cool it a lil too.

I know I know but I really don't feel like fighting the summer heat. I'll save a haze seed for a mother plant to clone for the hps. I live in florida like you and the only option right now is this.

yes sir. I'm going to home depot tommorow and picking up lights y splitters those sockets that you can just plug into the wall and a wall outlet to install in the crawl space. I should be good with that. Here is what I'm thinking on lights, I'm going to put up two power strips on either side of the box put three of those plug in light sockets on each side with a y splitter in each one. I'm not to sure what the side wattage is going to be but the bulbs I will be hanging from the top will be one 85w 2700k, one 42w 2700k, and one 85w 6500k. I know for sure all of the side lights are going to be 2700k but I don't know what wattage I am going to be running. I haven't looked at cfls in a good 6-7 months. I'll be updating with pics tommorow after the trip to home depot.

I don't really know I haven't grown these strains and don't know how tall they get. I know the haze is close to 100% sativa and the gws is 75% sativa. I think I might be able to get away with atleast a week of 18/6 and then revert back to 12/12. What do you think should I just start them 12/12 or you think a week veg time is ok without me running out of room?

bro are they purple haze?
i got two purple haze in veg at the moment 100% sativa
i would say veg for a week because the plant is just gonna be streching toward the light in 12/12 for the fist week anyway

No I wish I could find some purple haze seeds. Its Arjans Haze #1 from Green House Seend Co. Thats what I thought a week veg time. How long do you think before I'll start seeing the preflowers? Maybe two weeks top from turning back or you think a lil quicker since I'm going to veg for a week.

nahh maybe more than two weeks no matter which way you go, i think vegging for a week will keep em from streching as much, but either way if you do it a week apart or from the start they are gonna do some streching

Ok cool. And another question to clear some things up. I start counting days flowering from the first pistil I see right? Not from when I turn lights back. Ok maybe two questions. I was pondering the idea of getting smaller pots so I could squeeze atleast another plant in if not two. I want to break ATLEAST an ounce each grow or its just not gonna be worth the trouble ya know.

I looked over the thread. Its got some good info on it but I just can't spend the extra money getting the big boxes for the HPS. I'll be fine with any amount of SMOKEABLE bud, as long is its not popcorn buds lol. My first grow with two Autoflowers I hit an ounce dried weight with cfls. So I'm thinking atleast a half each plant.

Hold on something that small would be sufficant enough with out any root binding problems throughout the whole grow from seed to finish?
