My roots are out of control; is it a problem?

First time grower here with a question....

I had my plant for about 3 weeks in the original pot (the pot was squared aprx 6" x 6" wide and about 8" tall)

When I transplanted it to a bigger about a week ago I couldnt see the roots until I broke apart some of the old soil.

I dropped it into some fresh soil in a new pot (the new pot is aprx a foot wide by about 14" deep)

Here is my issue......I can see the roots growing out of the bottom of the pot (out of the watering vent holes underneath the pot) They look healthy and and strong. I am just concerned a little.

Why would the roots have suddenly grown SO much in one week? Is it a problem that they are growing out of the pot?

if you don't feel like transfering again, cut out the bottom of the pot with root gorwth coming out and put it in a bigger or same size pot with like half full of soil, the roots will just grow into that and give you more room not to stunt. It has some benifits and you dont have to completely transfer yet,

So I take it this isnt a big problem then?

If I just leave it alone the roots wont dry out or die because they arent in the soil and getting the water it needs?
