I am using CFL's sorry i just call them normal lights cos i use them all rnd the house haha

So do u think its defo the lights or can their be any other reason their not growing proply (like the fact i leave the lights on 24 hours 7 days a week)

well the actually to be honst iv got 60 wat energy saving light bulbs around my house and in my grow thing iv got a 200w old type bulb (not cfl) and a 75w cfl (i only used this cos my other 200w bulb blew)

i thought the old bulbs would be better (i must of been wrong)

if i put CFL bulbs in the grow thing will it fix my plants and what wat cfls should i use?

24/7 in veg is fine for marijuana. which is a class c3 plant meaning it does not need darkness to complete a photosynthesis cycle.

incandescents (old style) serve no purpose in a grow room. Compact florescent ( or what we refer to as CFL's the spiral bulbs that fit the regular socket) do the job but you need quite a few to get good fast growth. That and there are different specific color temperatures needed for various stages of growth 6500k for vegetative growth (referred to as daylight on most packaging) and 2700k for flowering (referred to as soft white) cfls in my opinion are just about useless for flowering unless you really know what your doing with them, it becomes a bit of a pain in the ass repositioning all of the bulbs every other day so that they are withing optimum distance from the plant. All that work and your are still going to lack some of the density and content you would be able to achieve with a Hps- High pressure sodium or a MH- Metal halide setup. Although all of these systems have there advantages they all have there drawbacks as well. HID systems ie. HPS & MH are excellent for growing but run pretty hot and require extra equipment, ballasts, hoods, and a beefy ventilation system and can get pretty expensive to run. Cfl Is fairly cheap to run and can be ventilated fairly easily with computer fans even. Like anything else though it has a disadvantage and that's less yield and less light penetration and typically slower growth. They all do the job it just depends on what you have and what you need.
