My plants are getting tall and starting to tip over.

My plants are getting bushy and top heavy (they don't even have buds yet) like they are going to tip over. One plant tiped tonight and I made a make shift cage for it. My pots are 18 inches deep. would it work to put a banboo stick down in the soil and tie them to it? will that shock them? WHAT SHOULD I DO!?:-(:confused::wall:

it wou be better to tie supports to the out side of the pot so you hit roots and cut them..... dont want root damage...use ductape

i'm a newbie but any plant thats tipping over you should set up a support... i used bamboo skewers when they were small cuz my plants were underlit n stretched out.... now 4 weeks later they still have the support skewers in the soil, but they have strong stems, i gues the roots grew around them.... now they're more of a justincase

next time when you start growing, blow a fan on them so you dont have this problem again.

O.K I have two fans on them and an air conditioner abouve them. the fans blow back and forth on them. They are still tipsy. heres the pics of one thats tipsy and the one that tiped over. I made an emergancey tomato cage out of extra fencing in my back yard my wife held it up. I still don't really know what to do.:wall:

Half would use a tomato cage or similar like you did and the other half would put a stake in it. Either works fine.
Putting a stake in the soil is not big deal if you stick it in and kill a couple roots it's not going to matter one bit or shock the plant it has plenty of other roots. That's like saying you can't top a plant because it would shock it.

All my plants were staked at one time, some still are, some didn't need it any more after a while.

yeah i didnt say it cant be done.... but your plant will focuse on fixing its roots and not growing as much .... i dont like wasting time on roots healing when that energy can be used on veg growth.....:fire:
