My Outdoor Jack Proof Fortress

This is my first grow, but not my first rodeo. I grew up on the street and trust no one. With all the recent threads about getting burgled I wanted to share my security set up. Feel free to critique it. I am always open to constructive criticism.

This is 12x6 heavy gauge dog run with all of the securing nuts on the inside (carriage bolts on the outside). I anchored every side with a 16" spike, 1/8" wire wrapped butthole tight around the bottom and the spikes were driven three inches underground with a 10 pound sledge hammer (so it cannot be lifted for access) I put field fence (4x2) across the top and zip tied it all around the top with 200 ties. The pvc keeps it up so no one can reach in from the top (the 4x2 holes are too small anyway, and they would have to be 8 feet tall to reach over).

The gate hinges are nutted inside and the latch is solid, with a round pad lock giving barely enough room for the key, and no room for bolt cutters. Then there are two motion sensors inside and four outside. I will be ready and watching a burgler before they can even reach the cage. The outside is wrapped in 6mil to keep out as much weed pollen and looky lous, while allowing in plenty of sun. This weekend I am putting a tent like 6mil top for the rainy season as I still have about 3-4 weeks to go.

Right now I have an M4 and plenty of handguns (but the M4 rocks, and with 2 30 round clips together, hard to beat) I am looking for a good 12 ga. so I don't take out any neighbors if I miss. Although most shots will be in the ground near the jackals.

My house doors are reinforced and I have motion detectors on them too.

Comments or questions?

I like your idea of home defense

dont spend the rest of your life in jail from shoting someone from stealing your plants.....then you will never grow again!! maybe pop a couple shots over their heads.......but i dont personally think killing anyone over that is worth it.......maybe like break a leg or something.....

i actually think the best thing you can do is set live traps to catch them red handed!! like snar lines, or big holes covered up with sticks and leaves.....thats just what i would do

Clayton man! It's only weed! Don't kill anyone...

But I would take down the white stuff, it sticks out like dogs balls to anyone walking past. Unless someone was on a weed hunt they won't register it from a distance.

THAT is sexy! 9 shot! Thanks for the info. I actually have an old Mossberg bolt action 12 ga. with a three shell mag. It's waaay too beastly to wield, and has a ridiculous kick (I'm 6' 215 solid)

Hey Izoc, nice avatar.

I do have MMJ card. The fence is to keep out animals too. Just tonight around 7 I went outside and there was a huge deer in my yard, about 20 feet from me. He was about 400 lbs and had a rack.

The motion sensors go off before anyone can even get to the cage, so, in the time it will take someone to cut enough fence to get through, I will be out there watching them myself (with my M4). For the record, I do live out in the country on 5 acres, about 10 miles from the nearest "town". When we moved here I asked the Sheriff what his response time is and he told me it could be 40 minutes. I asked him if it was every man for himself and he said yes. He told me I'm far enough out that if someone is in my yard at night, it is understood that they are there to do harm. Our yard is fenced with an electric driveway gate. There is really NO reason for anyone to be in my yard.

The Winchester1300 shotguns are also known as the 'Speed pump', because of the very fast-cycling pump action, which makes these guns popular among both hunters and sport shooters. These shotguns also work well for home defense and security applications, especially with availability of relatively short-barreled models with long magazines.

MY Home Defense system. they stopped making the one i have, the 8 shot Defender with a 20" Barrel......

8 Slugs in 10 seconds, My Shotty > Your Auto......

handles both buckshot and rifled slugs easily. The rugged Defender 8-Shot features an eight-shot magazine capacity, 18" cylinder bore barrel, non-glare metal surfaces and a lightweight composite stock and forearm.

Nice work!, I'd run a few extension cords from the house and electrify the whole thing.

I got a TC encore pro hunter - .300 win mag.

If someone's robbing your plants and you shoot the ole "three-hundo" off, I guarantee his feet won't touch the fucking ground as he simultaneously flee's, and shits himself at the same time.

I also have a .375 ruger (for when you just need to fucking kill everything), 5 shotties, an SR-22, and a model 7 .243....

hey clayton that setup looks sweet. Rippers will have a hard time getting in unless you take off for the weekend or something. Pretty solid. The only way in that i can see is if they cut through the fence as you mentioned. beyond that i dont really see a way in.

Out of curiosity what mmj state are you? because 5 acres w/ an electric fence is sweet and i love how the sheriff says you're on your own. where i am we have so many laws that are way too strict about home protection. for example where i live we're only legally allowed to shoot an intruder once they are INSIDE our actual homes. which is crap to have a shootout in the dark in middle of the night but thats how it is.

i also like the mossberg 500A its a lot less money than the 590, but the 590 holds more rounds, weighs a little more and will shoot the 3" magnum hi brass, with minimum felt recoil. I load mine with 4 shot for intruders! put a good flashlight on it and a M9 bayonet and ur set!
